We flew from Richmond to orlando on sat, stayed at BCV, I think we overdid at Epcot in the heat..ate dinner at Boma then Illuminations before back to BCV.

DAY 1
Next am...had yummy macadamia nut pancakes at Kona, then being picked up by disney transfer from bcv at 1215pm.. which put us at port at 125 I have to say, iwas not happy about the late pickup, but we walked in and checked in in just minutes, we were in the lobby of the ship at 145. too late for Enchanted garden, so we headed up to Cabanas..I was just too excited to eat ( big mistake) our room was ready , so we quickly got unpacked and headed to lifeboat drill.

then up to deck 12 to meet with our friends (N and M)get our drinks and sail away!!! I have to say, I was crying tears of joy, after 18 months of planning, it was finally here, and beautiful weather!!

Nand M were already in their suits, and we met them at the adult pool to relax a little...looking back , I should have gotten the 99$ travelers special massage at the spa....

We had late seating,so we went to Currents, guys got the glass beer refill beer mugs, and we went to the back of the ship was was empty!! to just relax it was great!!

..our rotation was AP EG EG RP AP...which was great having royal palace on dressy night...we had Palo on nassau( pirate night) early at 6...we didn't do Remy or brunch... Animator's Palate was my favorite!! The Atlantic Cod was so good...our server Heidi told me I could get it any other night that ap was serving it...so I had looked at menu, and got it for RP. Honestly, it was the best fish I have ever eaten!! I missed EG sea bass, DH said it was even better than the cod!! Also had the pasta pursette(sp) which was wonderful!! didn't care for the shrimp onion cheesecake...whicH I was really excited about.

I skipped most all desserts, except for the sweets in cove cafe, and guess what....I LOST half pound on the cruise!! Not many sweets...took stairs always....worked out on eliptical 4 miles one am, alot of swimming on excursions and snorkeling at Castaway cay.

anyway....after dinner we went strolled around a bit, and then to bed....I ordered my coffee which comes in a thermal caraffe, for the am while getting ready for bed, room service arrived quickly. and then came the night of horrors for me!

oh, a couple things before i forget...it took me forever to figure out the stinking night light near the desk...if you turn it on at night, we couldn't turn it off, and it was too bright, also our bedside clock never worked, which we should have called about, and on the last night it took us 40min to get through to put in a wake up call!!!!!
I'll never travel without my own alarm clock again! Also, I didn't take my over the door shoe bag since it was just the two of us, and I really missed it! i could never find my glasses etc...there was plenty of storage, but I prefer the shoe bag...

I have a problem with horrible headaches, and so for the first tine in 6 cruises it happened....woke up with the mother of all migraines..I forgot aabout 24 hour room service , and tried to take my meds on an empty stomach...well about 5 am, I began with the GI problems, and it was tough! I was in so much pain from the headache, I couldn't lie down, it was awful. I tried to eat , which made it worse. By 1030 I couldn't stand up so medical came to get me in a wheelchair. The MD was wonderful! He promised me he would have me better in a bit....he gave me IV meds for the nausea and another for the headache pain, and within 3 hours I was back to normal!! Unfortunately, I was also quarantined till 1000 the next am!

As I watched everyone getting off the ship at Castaway Cay, I did start to feel sorry for myself, but then quickly decided it was better to feel grateful that i felt better than to whine about missing CC and my nassau excursion( which began early the next day)

So I ordered lots of yummy stuff from room service( they were wonderful!!) had myself a little picnic on my verandah, watching the sea... My room steward Nesh kept an eye on my, asking me if i needed anything.... i watched 3 movies on demand on tv, plus the disney live shows that night on tv and read a book! I convinced my hovering husband to go on to CC and enjoy himself...there wasn't anything he could do at that point...he went, but came back after 2 hours.

He went to EG that night, I ordered baked potato and chicken which was really tasty and more ginger ale...which they don't charge for ( the can drinks) if you are "house arrest:) )

The rest of the crew went to 687 that night and had fun...i watched tv...and had fun!

woke up to watch the sunrise, had my coffee already from room service in thermal caraffe from night before so as not to wake up DH....sat out on verandah taking way too many sunrise pix! I couldn't wait to get out!! We ordered room service bkfst when DH woke up...got dressed and headed out . Since it was Nassau day, I guess a lot of people either left or slept in, because it was practically empty up on deck 12 . we rode the aquaduck 4 times, and only stopped because the last bump hurt my bottom!

I had to miss my Blackbeard Cay excursion, but N and M went and liked it alot...small but nice beach, stingray adventure much better than at CC. nice water. they returned around 3pm DH and I mostly stayed at the adult pool, very few people, had salad, fruit and chic nuggets and fries for lunch, He took a nap, I finished ny book, then went for a grrrrrrreat massage!!!! The rest of the gang stayed at the pool. We then dressed for Palo, and headed we off to Meridian for drinks before Palo

Oh, What can I say about that!!! Meridian was wonderful, the outdoor area is just perfect and dinner at Palo is just unforgetable!! I think we ate everything on the menu between the 4 of us!! I know it is blasphemy, but I skipped the choc souffle, and just had a bit of DH's...so good!! I was just too full!

While on that subject of food....I thought the portions at the rotational restaurants were just right, but DH thought too small, so he ordered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees most nights! He thought that was just right!

We thought the food was good, only the last night's menu I didn't care for.

After Palo, we went down for our formal pix, by then it was about 830 i think, and no one was in line for pix! We took lots! but only bought a couple...I hate the way shutters won't let you get 5x7 pix, just 8x10 for 20$ each...we only wanted a few, certainly not enough for a credit package. oh well

Then off to Outlook, where we watched sunset, and had another fruity drink..pomegranite passion i think is what i had.. then to Pink for a while which we loved also!

Speaking of Outlook....I hope everyone takes a little time to go there around sunset or earlier..it is beautiful up there, so romantic and the servers are terrific! Most evenings Wellington is playing the piano, it is just so nice!!
Not easy to find...deck 14 inside aft elevator( ithink it is aft)

Got up again to watch sunrise and have coffee..then off to workout...DH slept in...had a great work out, showered in rainforest ( it was our rainforest day) got dressed and headed to cove cafe for another great coffee and little treats!:goodvibes

Went into rainforest again...loved it in there...but one day was enough for me..the gang went back a couple more times, and i went in later.

Met DH for his Bkfst, then to pool for most of morning..the guys had a whiskey tasting at 230, so we had a late lunch, then got ready for that....did a little shopping also:woohoo:

The whiskey tasting was great!! Highly recommend if you like that sort of thing, I can't remember his name, but the guy running it was funny and very knowledgeable...I don't care for whiskey ( unless it is in chocolate) but I learned a lot!
I went for a facial and hair done. :cool1: it was great!!

After that, we dolled up, had more pix done, went up to outlook for another great sunset drink, and dinner at royal palace, where I got my delicious atlantic cod! DH said he thought the sea bass at EG was better, but I missed that night. Wish I had thought to order it for rp night so I could have tried it.

N and M missed pix with us, so after they ordered, they went out, no line , and got pix done in about 5 minutes!

After dinner, we went to skyline, well first we went to evolutions and saw the comic can't remember his name..he was great!!!!! I laughed till my sides hurt...it was packed!

Skyline was beautiful, but we liked the servers in the other bars better.

I woke up before sunrise...I was so hoping for blue sky...and yes it was beautiful!!!!!!! Had another room service bkfst, ordered night before, on verandah...so nice!

went up later with dh for his big bkfst..then off to snorkel excursion ..lots of fun...i was first one in the water, and last one out! took one of those cheap disposable waterproof cameras...waiting for pix now...

got to serenity bay around 1230 for lunch...i had the fish which was great..stayed out there till about4 so much fun!!

back on board for quick shower, then while i was getting a massage, dh went to shutters, bought pix and checked at guest services for our bill, which was all correct....and packed for us.:lovestruc ( passed out tips night before)

our character autographed pictured mats were waiting in our room , they are great!

ate dinner at ap, and we had originally thought about skipping this dinner and just either all having a room service picnic on our verandah, or getting pizzza etc by the pool...we went to dinner, and wished we had done the other. next time we will.

as soon as we put our bags in the hall at 1000, someone swept them up....so be sure you have all you need in your room...they are fast!!

Unfortunately, I left my cervical neck traction pillow in my room, called lost and found, and haven't heard anything yet:confused3

Getting up and out the next am was easy...we requested to switch to 645 am bkfst, since N and M were driving all the way back to VA. we were heading back with disney to BCV, but were way heavy with our bags, so they were taking a big one back with them:grouphug:

we were off the ship by 815 Getting a porter was a great idea!! arrived at bcv, room ready and walking in epcot at 930! really should have taken a nap, when will i learn:lmao: by 6 when we got to le cellier, i was practically asleep!! ate a great meal there, and headed to MK for wishes, then back to bcv

got up am...head nice bkfst of french patries we had gotten the night before, headed to airport for smooth sailing back to richmond and home by 4pm. love jet blue!!

That's it! We booked a dummy for 2013 hoping for a med cruise. We had a great time. any questions, or anything I can help with please ask away!

on the crowds....I couldn't believe there were 4000 people on that ship! I don't remember ever waiting for anything! We never went to dinner till after 815 walked right in every time...the adult areas were never crowded when i was there,,i know sea day afternoon was, but we had finished our pool time before the crowds started. Never had an issue with lounge chairs..

when i did venture over to the family pool, it was pretty crowded in those pools though.

Noise , yes, the restaurants were noisy, but not so much as to bother us. however we were late seating, and i 'm sure not as many children.

attire....I wish grown men wouldn't wear faded superman t shirts to dinner! I mean come on, wear a polo shirt, leave it out over a pair of khakis, how is that not comfortable?

I never knew what time it was! wish i had worn a cheap waterproof watch!

of course, i took too many clothes, i really tried not to.!

tons of room under the bed, beds very comfortable, rooms were great.

did not like seeing the orange lifeboats under my verandah...got used to it. I was on deck 6, next time will go higher. It didn't ruin my trip for sure, but wish I could have looked over the rail at the water.

My biggest surprise was how uncrowded it seemed! no real disappointments( other than sick of course) wish the drinks were cheaper..most i got were around 10$

Was there an act with two guys called Alfred and Seymour when you were on board? We leave on August 7th and I am hoping they will be on our cruise.

Hi,
another Virginian on your cruise!:goodvibes I can't believe 2 weeks ago we were on Castaway Cay (well, sounds like you were in your room... ) - it seems a memory now. So sorry for your quarantine!:scared1:

Funny you didn't think deck 12 was crowded on Nassau day - guess I didnt' venture up there then; I thought Deck 11 was crowded. I never get off the ship in Nassau (or, do so for less than an hour); we did massages that day - I usually saw lines at AquaDuct so didn't try it that day.

We had rainforest passes for sea day - definitely took advantage of it!

I like the food portions too. Unlike you though I gained mucho pounds this vacation! Definitely indulged! I really like the paninis at Flo's.

Enjoyed your trip report - glad you had a wonderful time, despite your delayed start!:cool1:

Thanks again for posting your trip report! I'm also from Richmond and was excited to read about it. We'll be onboard the Dream in Nov and although we've cruised before, this will be our first Disney cruise. Best wishes!
