I'm reposting my original introduction here so we can use the first post as a gathering place for important information about our cruise! :thumbsup2

This is our 2nd Disney Northern European cruise! We did the Northern Baltics Capitals cruise in July, 2010. It was amazing, so we've been eager to book a similar cruise as soon as one became available. The main differences between our 2010 cruise and this new cruise are: we won't be going to Warnemunde (Berlin), we won't be going to Oslo, Norway, and we will get to spend two days in Copenhagen.

Looking forward to meeting everyone!
We were on the Baltic in July 6 2010. Was that the one you were on? So much fun, can't wait for this one.

Hi, we're going on this cruise too. Would love to be on the exchange list. We're in stateroom 7510. There are 4 of us, Karen 48, Emily 27, Lorelei 9 and Aria 9. All of us are females. I would like to be in the no more than 20 group. I hope this gets to the right place.

:welcome: Karen727! This is the right place! :) I've added your family to the Roll Call and to the FE Exchange. :thumbsup2

This is our first time to do fish extender exchange.

I'm glad you're doing the FE Exchange! It is a lot of fun! Right now, we have 28 families participating and I expect that number to grow! ::yes::

I'm celebrating my birthday on this cruise!

Happy early birthday wishes! I can't think of a better place to spend it! :cool1:

My daughter, Lorelei is from Russia.

Wow! St. Petersburg will be a very special port for your family. :goodvibes I have two sets of friends who adopted siblings from Ukraine - one adopted two sisters and the other adopted a brother/sister pair. They have all been through a very interesting, heartwarming journey and I'm sure you have, too. :flower3:

Welcome, melcatfish, disfamilyfun, Bethietink, The Wombles, mousemom11, and DisneySpirit! Yay! We have a good group to start the ball rolling! Let the planning begin!

The Wombles - Like mousemom11, we will also be arriving in London for a few days pre-cruise. DH and I would really appreciate recommendations for authentic local British eateries! Nothing expensive, just fish & chips sort of places that are popular with the locals.
Hi, I've been trying to PM you but not having any luck. I would like to be put on the exchange list. Our stateroom is 7510. There are 4 females in our room. Karen 48, Emily 27, Lorelei 9, and Aria 9. We would like to be in the no more than 20 group. I hope this is OK. Thanks!

Yes! :) Small world! It's great to have another experienced Baltic cruiser on this thread!

And, great job of getting your posts up to ten! ;)

Hi All! :wave2:

Just a few updates for our Baltic Cruise thread...

It's been almost a year since the booking window opened up for this cruise on March 26th! And now, we're only 5 months and two days from sailing! :woohoo: Before you know it, we'll all be onboard and ready for a great adventure! I, for one, can not wait!!!!!!

DCL-sponsored excursion options are now listed on DCL's website, which can provide helpful information and ideas even if you are planning your own private tours. ::yes:: If you are doing any DCL excursions, below are the dates for when you can start booking. Remember, your cruise must be paid in full first. This also goes for booking Palo brunch/dinner, spa treatments, and the nursery.
Tuesday, March 24 for Platinum and Concierge cruisers
Wednesday, April 8 for Gold cruisers
Thursday, April 23 for Silver cruisers
Friday, May 8 for new Disney cruisers

I'm still keeping track of Roll Call in the first post on Page 1. Can you believe that we have well over 70 DISBoarders cruising?!?! Unfortunately, though, I've heard sad news through the grapevine that at least two families have cancelled this sailing. I won't delete names until I have direct confirmation, though. So, if you've cancelled and are still reading this thread or getting notifications, please pop on here a sec and let us know so we can give you a proper farewell. You will be missed!

Our FE Exchange is up to 28 families now! :flower3: I'm keeping track of this on Page 1, as well. There have been several people who've expressed an interest in joining but haven't sent me all of their information, so those names don't appear on the list yet. Please don't forget that I need your cabin number, names of everyone in your cabin, ages of the kids, any allergy considerations, and the size of FE group you are comfortable participating in before I can officially add you to the exchange. If you are in a GTY cabin status and already signed up for the FE, please be sure to send me your cabin number as soon as you are assigned one. :)

Only 152 days to go....

One more update...

Celestine just pm'd me with new contact information for the private coach they are organizing from London to Dover. This info is conveniently listed in the first post on Page 1, too:

PRIVATE COACH FROM LONDON TO DOVER!
Celestine & DH (ReadingFC) are organizing a private coach from London to Dover for us for just £20 per person (roughly US$30pp), which is a fantastic deal! They've also graciously offered to provide drinks, nibbles, and candy! If you are interested, please send an email to Celestine at balticbuccaneers@mail.com to sign up. After March 23, 2015 (the final paid-in-full date), they will set a deadline for signing up and the maximum number of travellers they can accommodate.

Seems to have been a sudden flurry of posts over the last few days.

Thanks Deb for the summary on dates of booking excursions. We've been looking at these although will probably just do our own thing except at St Petes. Does anyone know from last time whether anything excursion wise filled up before the silver booking window opened on the last baltic cruise?

I'm excited that the boards are picking back up! I didn't do the previous Baltic cruises, but someone did post on one of the DIS boards that the Tallinn marzipan excursion for their cruise booked up before silvers could book. They are on one of the early sailings and their booking windows have opened. They haven't mentioned anything about St. Petersburg, but I'll pop over there and ask.

That's a great idea, krisinparis! Looking forward to hearing what you find out from them!

We were Gold status for our 2010 Baltic cruise and were able to book everything we wanted. I remember that some of the shorter excursions offered both a morning and an afternoon option. Hopefully Karen727, DisneySprirt, Celestine, ReadingFC, DISNEYFANTASY, and some of the other previous Baltic cruisers will post their booking experiences, too.

Two things: what is a GTY cabin? And

Two things: what is a GTY cabin? And my daughter Emily is On a Gluten Free diet.

GTY stands for "Guarantee Status" which means that the cruiser was not able to pick their own cabin number and is waiting for DCL to assign them one. Typically, DCL does not directly notify the cruiser of the cabin assignment. Most cruisers find out by checking their reservation on DCL's website or when they receive their final documents. I've heard that most cabins are assigned about 30-60 days out.

I will be sure to note Emily's dietary restriction on the FE list. Thanks for letting me know!

Not posted for ages seemed so far away hut getting closer and excitement creeping in
Looking forward to the FE

Welcome to the new posters, we did the Baltic in 2020, the last of the four Baltic cruises, and are platinum. We can book palo etc at 125 days and see the port trips etc from 120 days. We live in London and I work in and around London so can answer any questions. I am booking my own private trips in every port of call for more flexibility and to be cheaper. I currently am not posting here much, but you can find me on the cruise meets.

Are people booking private tours on their own or joining with other families to keep the cost down? On the Med Cruise last summer ~ several families joined together for a private tour and it really helped the $$...?
