July 20th, 2011 – 10 Night Mediterranean "Mickey's European Explorers"

Hi All, I have filled our van for Naples and Rome for the private tours. The company is www.pleasantravel.com Mariano Fiorentino is the owner. He has been very nice in the emails. The price was reasonable when combing two families. Some of you can still get together.

Rome 550 E 7-8 people

and Naples, I negotiated some things based on our needs. 430 E 7 people

I MUST get to packing! Jill

I've decided against eveningwear and am just plannning to take a dark suit that, hopefully, will do the trick.

Travel documents finally arrived today so it finally feels real and NOT FAR OFF.

Maddie is too young for the Turkish Schooner trip (and after the reviews it's just as well!) but the private yacht option is pretty tempting....

If it's not too late we'd love to join in on the private yacht tour. It's me, DH, and DS 3 years and DS 6 months.
Thanks!
Jenn

My husband is skipping the jacket and I don't have them for my little guys. I have a feeling they'll be under dressed but I am hoping my sons' cuteness factors will help people overlook it.

We're traveling for a whole three weeks and trying to pack for it all in three suitcases. It's amazing how hard that is with two little guys. Sure their clothes are tiny but they need more "stuff".

My husband isn't taking a jacket either. Guess he will be another one that may be under dressed but we'll still have a good time, no matter what!! I'm not taking a dress either. Just a nice pantsuit outfit. Nothing too dressy!!

Can't wait until next week!!

Hi Andrea,
Thanks for that, lily will reply tonight, she is so excited to have ready made friends!
Does anyone have a 13 year old boy or an 8 year old girl that would like to e-mail prior to the cruise?

Helen

Hello there

I think I finally sorted out emailing and hope that all 3 girls have now received an email from Lydia.

With regard to the 13 year old, Lydia has a brother who will turn 14 on holiday. If your son wants to email on the same as Lydia, I will pass it on to him. Does your son have xbox live or facebook. If so email his details and Elliott will get back to him. He's feeling a little left out as his sister is meeting up with new friends.

Thanks Andrea

I really, really hate the search function on these boards...I know this has been discussed on this thread, but I can't find it - does anyone have a recommendation for airport transfer?

We're staying at the Hispanos Suiza and I know it's not one that many taxi drivers know of, so we'd like to prebook, just for simplicity.

My husband just walked in and said "I haven't had a chance to look at the Barcelona guide book, can you just sort out what we are going to do?"

*bangs head against wall*

I'm going to be happy to get on the plane on Sunday morning, just so the planning can be officially put to rest (I'm only bringing my iPad, leaving laptop behind....)

Taxis are very easy to get at the airport, no different from any other airport, so if you have the address, they should be OK.

You could try Barcelona Airport Transfers, we used these a lot and have booked them for our return from the ship to the Port.

You can get a quote immediately, they aren't as cheap as a a taxi at the port, which will be around 30 euros or so.

My DH has made arrangements with a local dive shop in Malta for a certified 2 tank dive. If anyone is interested in joining him, email Charlie at Cresta Dive Centre (info@crestadivecentre.com)

Cresta is a 5* star PADI diving centre located in St. Julian's.

July 22nd and they have group dives going out that day. They can come and pick you up from the ship in the morning at 8am, bring you to the dive centre, sort out paperwork/cash/equipment etc... then off for 2 great dives!! and have you back to the ship by about 2.30/3pm at the latest.

We are about a 20 minute drive from the port.

The cost for 2 dives is 75 euro. Please note that this price includes all your equipment, taxes and permits, road transport and fully qualified Instructor's leading/guiding you at all times - no hidden costs.

pirate:

My DH, Rick, is also diving with this same company at this same time. Just like yours - they are picking him up at the ship at 8:00 am. I'll have him look for your husband - what is his name??

Our suitcases are packed - my DH is not taking a jacket as well since it takes up valuable suitcase space. We'll be traveling for 25 days and hate to tote around a jacket for 1 night. Other nights he is wearing linen-type pants and "camp" shirt or polo.

I bought my red ribbons today for Dis Meet. We leave tomorrow to start our journey to Europe!! We are so excited!!! I can't wait to see London, Paris, and Barcelona before we board the ship. See you all then!!

Oh, that's great. I was a little worried about ROB going out solo since we have no Disney option. Hopefully we'll see you at the meet.

HI

Phew, what a lot is going on!! Does anyone else feel like me and that time is running out!!

Just to let you know that we have booked the Yacht with Peter and have filled it already.

Sorry to those that expressed an interest later. I am sure there are other charters, if you do a search.

Otherhalf has decided not to take DJ and will be wearing a long sleeve shirt with a tie and probably taking a lightweight jacket. We are eating in Palos on the formal night, so the jacket will be on at the start and then come straight off!!! However, I am going to take the dinner shirt for Pirate night, it looks pretty good with a sash around the waist.

I usually wear Capris during the day (I have been looking for some shorts, but not sure I have the legs for them!), and then smartish cotton trousers, or a summer dress in the evening - it does get a bit chilly though with the air con.

Dione, have a safe trip and look forward to meeting you, thanks for the reminder about the red :thumbsup2 See you in the Promenade at 3.00, if not then up on deck after lifeboat drill; although we may meet up in the cruise terminal. If you spot us, say hello, we already know Jill (Designer Travels), so we may be noticable, she has the most beautiful twin girls.

If anyone is planning going for Tapas on the Tuesday evening, let us know, we have free wifi at the hotel, so I will check on my phone.

Kate

I am waiting to hear back :surfweb:- when I have a definite response and a price I will post back for those that are interested. pirate:

Nocturnal :rotfl2: Elliott broke up the week before last and then went to a Russian training camp. He has come back so full of energy, nocturnal would be a blessing:rolleyes1 Not long to wait for the Cove :cloud9: We are travelling out on Sunday so they should have chance to chat before then.

See you soon

Thanks Andrea x

Looks like we might be too late, but I sent you a pm - we would also be interested in this private tour of Rome. We are a group of 3 - we have an 8 year old dd.

Hi New Mommy,

Would you be interested in joining our family on a tour of Rome with the same operator as Jill's using?

This is our family's first time visiting (DH, DW, DS-7 and DD-5) so we're looking to do all the sites including Vatican, Coliseum, etc..

Let me know and thanks!

Ed

Yikes - I better start chasing Virgin (agent we booked with). If the package does not turn up would it cause a major problem (other than I will feel that we are missing out)?
Joanne, we finally collected our travel docs on Monday evening from our travel agent. Hope you managed to get yours too.
