We are already starting to plan our trip for next summer. I work in education, so for the most part I am at the mercy of school vacations. We have gone in August twice and the end of June once. We like the end of August, but this year we thought that we would buy an annual pass while we are down there, since we are DVC members , so the savings is great. That means next year, we need to go down a bit earlier to keep it within the same year.

Our anniversary is July 8th, so I thought it might be cool to go down for the fourth and stay for a bit over a week. I assume the fourth will be nuts, but we can hang out at our resorts and avoid the parks, but will it be nuts the entire time we are there? How bad are the crowds the first two weeks in July?

Our only other option would be April vacation, which is the third week I April and not around Easter.

In July we could probably go for a bit under two weeks, but in April we would only be able to squeeze in one.
Please let me know your thoughts.

I would choose April. Personally I couldn't take the heat in June let alone July. The crowds just add to the heat. I would expect there to be less people in April than in July. If you have no other choice, going in July is better than not going at all.
