We are planning a June 26 to July 6, 2011 WDW vacation.
Our 180 day ADR date is December 27th (or 26th, not sure which).
Our vacation inclused 4th of July weekend ?

My husband had to switch jobs - now we have less income.
So we may have to cancel our WDW vacation for 2011.

I know I can cancel our POFQ reservation by early June 2011 (it is an AAA rate - no food or ticket package).

Should I still do my ADR's in late December at the 180 day mark, even if we do decide to cancel our 2011 trip ?
OR
Should I wait till the 60 day mark for our ADR's when I know we will know if we are definitely going to WDW ?
Will we miss out on places like LeCellier, Donald's Breakfast in AK, and HDD, if we wait for the 60 day ADR mark ?

If I make ADR's in late December, I will cancel them by May 2011 if we decide not to go to WDW.
If I do the above, would I offend other WDW vacationers or help them out with our ADR cancellations ?

Thanks for your advice.

Personally I would go ahead and make the adrs.

If you wait until 60 days out, being the July 4th time frame, you very well may not get ANYTHING. That is a very busy time for vacation and most everything will be taken, not just the popular ones.

So I would go ahead and make the adrs, if you can't go then cancel them just as you cancel your trip ressie. Plain and simple.
That way if something happens and you can go you can really enjoy it.

(another thing, if you get to go and wait to make the adrs and end up with nothing or nothing you want....is that really the way you want to spend your vacation you looked so forward to?)

On a side note, I made ressies for LeCellier on our anniversary before I made or decided to go to WDW. :lmao:
Took the confirmation to DH and said "does this sound good for our anniversary?"........he laughed and said I assume you want to go back to WDW? DUH!!!

Thanjk you.

We were never in this delima before.
I am a obseesive planner and we have always done our vacations at WDW.
I hope we still go in June-JUly 2011.
I may eveb=n try to find a part time job to pay for it.
thanks !

I hope you are able to go on your trip. The way the system is, you have almost no choice but to make your ADRs in Dec. That said, this highlights the problem with a 180-day window and why it should be reduced. If you are not able to go, it's unfortunate that you would have been holding ADRs that someone who definitely was going could have gotten. Granted you have pledged that you will cancel in a timely manner, but how many people are in similar situations? Probably a lot. And not all will cancel.

You've got a vacation booked and have paid your deposit. IMO that means you can in good concience book those ADRs. If you have to cancel your trip then cancel the ADRs and it's all good. You're not doing anything sneaky or against rules. You're booking ADRs in good faith for a trip where you've already paid your deposit and been given a confirmation number. Go for it and have fun.

To all DISer's and WDW vacationers
I pledge to cancel our POFQ resort reservation and any and all TS, HDD and tour ADR's/reservations by May 1, 2011, if we can not go to WDW in 2011.
I am a polite and honest individual and keep my promises.

I hope others are also like me :thumbsup2

:goodvibesI will also post my TS ADR cancellations on this thread- so others may grab them, when they become available. :goodvibes

PS - I just applied for 2 jobs in my town (online help wanted job listings) - I'll see what happens.
