  • Grand Floridian - could be possible

  • Animal Kingdom Lodge - recently heard this rumour

  • Eagle Pines - already announced once

  • Hawaii - could be really BIG

  • Colorado - another BIG thought

  • Other WDW resort - ???

  • Other Non-WDW resort - ???

Eagle Pines and I would guess something over in teh Animal Kingdom area not at the lodge but a new resort in that vicinity.

I'm under the impression that DL is almost a done deal.

I would LOVE to own at the CR!!

The only resort that would be a MUST BUY for us would be a good ski resort. I would sign up to buy 3 or 4 contracts of 150 pts each. But it would have to be SKI IN SKI OUT or a VERY short walk to the lifts. And it would have to be good airport access.

If you're out there listening DVC please consider Snowbird or another of the top Utah resorts.

If it is skiing it should be in Banff Alberta or at Mont Tremblante in Quebec or at Whistler in BC.

I voted Disneyland, because that's what I think they will do. And I'd like that, going to DL once in a while would be great!
However, what I would want is AKL!
I'd have to get out the checkbook AGAIN for that!

We just came back from DL after a West Coast cruise. They have DVC kiosks there. We were talking to the CM at the kiosk. She said they are adding DVC to the Grand Californian. It is very similar to WL. It sounded like a done deal.

The DVC CM's stay for 2 weeks in DL and they the bring out a new group. They gave out the DVC pins with PLuto.

On my last trip to WDW, I heard that the Eagle Pines project is dead and that DVC is going to concentrate on resorts that are part DVC and part Disney (ala Beach Club & Villas, Wilderness Lodge & Villas, Boardwalk Hotel & Resort) and shying away from standalones like OKW and SSR. So I would not be surprised to see DVC at Contemporary and Animal Kingdom Lodge in the near future (based again on what I heard on my June trip).

Hmmm....or maybe a brand new resort will be built that is part DVC/part regualr hotel rooms. This could be in the Eagle Pines area or somewhere else around Bay Lake. Does anyone know how much property WDW has on the North side of Bay Lake?

I haven't voted yet as I don't really have a clue. Interesting about DL DVC being a done deal though. :listen:

I have a feeling DL is next up, but I'd love to see one at CR. My husband, the golf addict, is rooting for Eagle Pines.

Disney probably already knows CR would be extremely popular.

I voted for Eagle Pines because I think that's the site that gives DVC the greatest opportunity to sell a lot of points, even though the cost of construction would also be higher than a remodel or small add-on. They can build a big resort and sell it as "buy here, stay wherever you'd like". I also believe that if they can swing one in California, it'll happen.

My personal preference would be at the Contemporary, and I would buy an add-on there in a second. I've never been to AKL (not even to eat, but maybe someday!), so I couldn't comment. The Poly would be great, but I'm not holding my breath. I'd actually love to see some villas at the Yacht Club, but I'm not holding my breath on that one either!

That's an interesting thought! I didn't think of that possibility.

ahhhhh! Come on you can still vote! I don't think anyone really have a clue either just a bunch of CM rumours that get repeated and repeated until we believe them!!! I think polls are great fun!

I heard from a CM that Villas at Cinderella's Castle (VCC) is a done deal. I also heard that Universal is merging with Disney/DVC and will create Villas at Hard Rock Cafe (VHR). Conversely, Disney will update some attractions by incorporating some Universal characters - Snow White vs. Hulk for example.

I think polls are fun too and I really like yours. :sunny: I'll enjoy everyone's responses as it is such a fun thing to speculate about. :cool1:

It is just that I can't decide how to vote. :confused3 Now I can say that I don't think there will be one at the Polynesian or GF. Texas doesn't seem likely to me either unless there is going to be a park built there as well and if so that would take years.

DL, HI, Eagle Pines Resort and Vacation Club all seem more likely to me. CR really intrigues me and there do seem to be so many rumors about it but on the other hand, it seems unlikely that Disney Resorts would give up such valuable property....but maybe that isn't how it works anyway.

It is hard for me to envision where a DVC property could be built at AKL that could share the amenities of the resort while providing views of the savannas. It is already such a huge resort.

Not sure if this was mentioned here before, but somewhat interesting given the topic of this thread...

Disney area to add time share
The 14-story, 253-unit WorldMark will be a third for Anaheim.

By SARAH TULLY
The Orange County Register

ANAHEIM – Disneyland Resort visitors will have the option of staying at the area's largest time-share resort - featuring multibedroom condominiums and a rooftop deck for fireworks viewing - starting in 2008.

Trendwest Resorts Inc. is planning to start construction in January on the 14-story, 253-unit WorldMark Anaheim, the third time-share complex in Anaheim. It will be one of the city's tallest buildings.

The Redmond, Wash.-based company, which owns 58 resorts, decided to build in Anaheim because of survey requests from existing owners and the central location in Southern California.

Plus, condos are attractive for families. They come equipped with washers, dryers, kitchens and entertainment centers.

"For a lot people, that's a much more preferable vacation than your standard motel room," said Mark Lukens, real-estate vice president for Cendant Timeshare Resort Group, including Trendwest.

Time share is a vacation property where an owner can buy use of a condominium for a week or two a year, for example.

The popularity of time shares is growing, with 3.87 million owners as of January, up about 14 percent from the year before, according to American Resort Development Association.

In March, the Planning Commission approved the time-share complex, adding to the two already in the resort area. Cendant also owns Dolphin's Cove, with 136 condos. Peacock Suites offers 139 suites, a combination of hotel rooms and time shares.

Jeff Pank, who manages the Peacock Suites, said his occupancy rates are 12 percent to 15 percent ahead of other hotels.

Trendwest sells "points" that owners can use like cash to buy time in time shares, but the company does not sell individual locations.

Owners can spend their entire vacations in one place or break up their time between different locales. The amount of points depends on demand, season and unit size. For example, a family might want to spend three days at Disneyland, then use the rest of its points in Las Vegas.

On average, an owner can pay $16,000 for the basic time-share plan - a weeklong stay in a hotel that can be used every year for a lifetime, then be passed on to heirs. Owners must pay annual maintenance fees, about $500 a year.

WorldMark is to be built at Katella Avenue and Zeyn Street, down the street from Peacock Suites. It would be almost double the size of the Peacock Suites and offer more amenities. It will sit next to GardenWalk, an outdoor mall and hotel complex that will start construction next year.

The resort features private balconies, as well as outdoor and children's pools, an exercise facility, game room and complimentary, five-level garage. Twelve Presidential Suites will be available. The deck will include cabanas and three spas and seating.

The highest point of WorldMark will be 168 feet tall - just 10 feet shorter than the area's tallest building, the Anaheim Marriott.

Jerry O'Connell, chairman of the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau and hotel co-owner, said a large time share could fit in the resort area.

"Obviously, the Disneyland Resort is one of top tourist attractions in the world," O'Connell said. "If you think, you can go to the park a couple of days and the beach for a couple of days. I think it makes sense in that scheme."

Future West Coast (Oregon) DVC member here. We've started saving up with the goal of buying next year. We were planning on buying SSR, but would probably spend a lot of points at DL. If the rumour of a DL resort is true, I'd almost like to wait for that, since I think it would be VERY popular and having the 11 month reservation window at our home resort in DL would work out so much better for our family.

Any more insight into future DVC resorts at GC, or elsewhere ?

We are booked for the GC for Dec 4 - 10th this year.

Then it sounds like you should vote for Other WDW Resort!! :teeth: :teeth:

Thanks for voting everyone! Incase you didn't realize it, you can see who voted for what by clicking on the number of votes on graph.

Anyone else? 121 votes isn't bad!

I think it's going to be the Contemporary and then DL resort area. I thought that I would add-on if it were ever the Contemporary but since our visit last year I would have loved it to be AKL.

I doubt there will be anything in the next 2 years...because I don't think SS will be sold out by then.

Went to the member update last week and spoke with one of the sales people afterwards and he indicated that there could be an announcement at the end of this year or in the first quarter next year. Of course who knows with so many rumors????

I voted for Eagle Pines, because I love GOLF!! I hope they build it!
I would NOT like DL, because I have no desire, and heard to many people from Calif. say it is nothing like WDW. Too small, DTD there is nothing like WDW, etc, etc.
