July 2, 2005 - WE ARE THERE!!!

We have the late seating. Only time available when we booked. I have read that you can see the shows first and have a relaxing dinner later. Normally we eat first and watch the shows after. We will see how this works out.

We have always had the early seating, and it has worked well for us. This time around, we decided to try late......for reasons that I don't remember. Maybe it was because that our kids always meet friends, who always seem to have that later seating. I have noticed that people with the younger children do eat at the 6:00 seating. Since our kids will be 10 and 13, staying up late is not a problem for them.

Dreams Unlimited has the excursions for the cruise to Mexico. Here is a link to the excursions http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/cruise/excursions_7Mazatlan.cfm :cool1: We have decided to do Randi's in Mazatlan. Still working on the others. I am thinking of playing golf at Cabo. Still deciding as to zipping though the trees or spending time on the Pirate ship pirate: adventure for PV. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

jgiants21,
We'll see you at Randi's. We booked last week. I won't be riding but I'll ride over with everyone and meet up with the rest of our group at Victor's. We have 2 little ones that can't ride so we will just play on the beach until the ride is over. My Dh and I did it a few years ago and had a great time. Amy :flower1:
We also did Las Caletas in PV last time and want to do that again. It was a nice beach day with everything included.

AmyJ of Ca - It is great to see others doing Randi's. I have read great threads about the experience. There will be four of us who have very limited riding experience. We pray we just don't make fools of ourselves. I hope to hear from Randi soon, as I sent our request this weekend. Victor's sound fantasic - looking forward to the shrimp. My DD really want to try the Banana Boats. That might be to much for me. Keep on posting! - or bumping.... :jumping2:

If you don't hear from Randi in the next few days, e-mail her again. It doesn't make it through sometimes. She's usually pretty prompt with her replies. Also don't worry about making fools out of yourselves!! These horses are very easy going. I wouldn't let my older kids ride (it's their first time) if I didn't think they could handle it. They will be on the ride with my DH, DSIL, her BF, my neice and nephew and even my MIL is giving it a try. It's definitely a trip off the beaten trail and you get an interesting view of how the people in Maz. live. They live a much more simple life than we are used to but it was by no means a slum. Talk to you later. Amy :flower1:

Thanks Amy, You were correct. Randi did response to us in a very prompt manner. In fact, we have shared e-mails a couple of times regarding activities availble on the beach. Randi advised me that the bannana boat would cost $4 per person, and she could book it for us. In fact, she put a reminder in her day planner to do such that. She seems great! If she does, the operator will normally give extra time on the boat to her riders. It looks like with your crew and the four of us, we may have the whole adventure full. How many are riding for your group?

Found on page two - we need to keep us on page one. I will have a blue saphire martini (shaking not stirred) as my first drink.

We should have 8 riders and 3 tag-alongs(me and our 1 and 2 year old). The only port we are up in the air about is Cabo. The dune buggy thing looks fun but expensive and we have an off road car and can pretty much do it for free in the Ca desert when we want. Maybe a nice hotel with a good pool for the kids or just walk around town a little and head back to the ship. Who knows? Maybe I'll let someone else in our group decide. :rotfl2: Who am I kidding, they aren't nearly as obsessed with planning this as I am!!
BTW, I found us half way down page 2..... :cheer2: Let's get posting everyone!! :rotfl:  Amy :flower1:

Just letting you know that the prices for Puerto Vallarta have been added as well as the times of the excursions at all of the ports. :cool1:

Thank you so much Regina. Will have to go and check out the prices. Might have to print them out and start highlighting the possibilities.

Wow - I did not realize how many pages I am printing out here. I think the prices are a little on the expensive side - now I had mentioned the dune buggy rides. Where are they? Are they listed here? Is this done privately? Which port. More details please since one of my sons is now interested.
Thanks.

Okay, time to go look over the sheets - I am hoping first west cruisers will post reports right away. Curious to see what they have done on their own.

DH and I skimmed over the excursions page. Not sure which one to do. He's going to print it all out tomorrow, so we can read it over a little better.

Doing 4 previous Disney cruises, I always felt really sure as to what excursions to do, but THIS cruise is different! There is so much about this cruise that has me "dazed and wondering".

Leaving from Port Cananveral is SO much easier!v (for me at least!)

Have a good night!

Just printed out the excursions so we can all sit down and read them. My one son wants to snorkel out of Cabo and see a jungle somewhere. My husband wants to do a fishing excursion. Other DS abd DD are not sure what they want to do. So much to see - so little time! - many of them sound interesting. Hopefully we'll all agree on something! Doew anyone know when we can we book them?

I would love to zip through the trees too but my family does not think I will go through with it.

One son is interested in horseback riding, snorkeling and swimming with the dolphins. He likes the PV ex. better.

The other son of course wants to do the dune buggy rides but I don't see them on the list anywhere.

My daughter not sure - I know she is dying to try horseback riding. Quiet a list and not thrilled about starting early like 7:00 am.

I would love to do a beach day on our own or with DCL in at least one port.

As far as I know the one place you can do a off road car thing is in Cabo. I'm sure there are more but this is the one that I heard of. It's www.wideopencabo.com. I have no idea how reputable this company is, but you may want to look into it. Good luck ,Amy :sunny:

I will bump us back to page 1. There were a lot of posts this week, no thanks to me. It has been a very long week with very little time for the DIS. I did manage to print out the excurision info. Hope to look that over this weekend.

Dave

Dave - I had to go back a few pages -

You said you did the dune buggy rides in Cozumel. Did you do this privately or through DCL? Let me know if you find anything about this at any of these three ports. Wondering if it's a possibility - since I had mentioned it to my son and I do not see it in any of these ports. Perhaps privately?

I need to go find a thread also on Maztlan - there was someone doing private tours from Maztlan who posts on this disboard.

Barbara - if you reading - is the July 2nd West Coast cruise your next cruise or do you have another planned before this one? and Have you done any research/homework on these excursions yet? You seem to be the most experienced here and curious/interested in your input also. :goodvibes
