July 2, 2005 - WE ARE THERE!!!

We actually stayed at the Yacht Club. Really nice but not sure if I was paying if I would stay there.

It has been 5 or 6 years since we have had to buy airline tickets. Does anyone know if it is better to buy early or wait to see if price goes down. Right now we can get $274 per person non stop Tampa to LAX. This sounds reasonable to me but am not real sure.

Dave

Dave,

Are you flying in the day of the cruise or the day before?

We booked our flights about two months ago and are flying in the day before. The price had gone up once and then changed again. It has been the same price and still is. We got a rate from Continental of $306.70 RT - Non Stop also. Normally, the closer you get to your date, price will definitely go up. We knew we were going, so we did this, paid for it and one less thing to worry about.

Hello to all........It's XLT's wife here.

Just dropped in to bump this thread up.
Fran

Nice to see you checking in once in a while Fran.

I am still surprised that not many cruisers have found us over here - first timers and exploring websites, etc.

Are you guys flying in the same day?

Less than 200 days!! :cool1: :cool1: :cheer2:

Ah oh, How many days does that leave us to pay this sucker off???
Best not think of this 10 days before Christmas!!
Wouldn't be so bad but we have 2 cabins to pay for!! Maybe Santa will pay off our cruise this year!!! It's worth a shot!! Happy Holidays everyone. See you in 197 days!! Amy :flower1:

Anna.......we are flying in on Tuesday June 28th. We are spending 3 days at DL before the cruise. Our DL package has to be paid off by 12/31. Then I can pay for the airline tickets then I hope there is still time to pay on the cruise. Have a great weekend. We are off to Ft Lauderdale for the weekend to do some painting for Fran's mom.

Glad to see you guys. We also have two cabins. We were able to book a cat. 11 with three people on (DVC) points and one cat. 8 cabin with cash. We have already paid for our airline tickets. Hopefully soon after the Holidays will pay off the balance. Did you guys use your Disney Visa and get the $50. onboard credit. Thanks to these boards (and I hope all is good when we are there), for the first time, I was able to get the credit on the cash cabin. When we booked they told us the onboard credit was only for 2004 sailings and watch for offers for 2005. Last week, I saw there was an offer from these boards and was able to get it. (must be booked and I guess paid with Disney Visa - which we do anyway - will also be redeemin our disney rewards to use onboard).
We are staying three nights after cruise at the Fairfield Inn. I am not sure yet if I want to redeem Marriott cheques from my other Visa card or just pay the cash and use those rewards for air at another time.

I learned and have used my cc for big purchases/bills and get rewards. College, Auto Insurance (4 cars), DVC maintenance fees - they need to be paid anyway right away (no interest payments here).

Okay, I am rambling. Talk to you guys later.

We booked this cruise the day they were announced then rebooked when we were on the ship in May. We got the $200 on board credit doing it that way. We have been buying everything with Disney Visa trying to build the points. We use it like a debit card so it gets paid off every month. Have a good weekend.

Where is everyone staying the night before the cruise? we're staying at the Best Western Sunrise in Redondo Beach with AnnaS. We were booked at a Holiday Inn In San Pedro but were advised not to stay there.

We will be at Paradise Pier the night before as we are doing DL 3 days before the cruise.

Found us on page 2.....is there no one else going on this cruise???

No idea

I think everyone is hiding. Considering how full this cruise is and how many dissers there are - I am kind of surprised no one else has found us yet. Will just have to keep this thread alive.

Hello, again..............

Just a quick little "Merry Christmas" to everyone from XLT and myself.

Hope no one has to go out shopping tomorrow! Thankfully, we're done. :cheer2:

Fran (tchrmom.....logged in on DH name)

Thanks Fran and Dave.

We also hope everyone has a safe and healthy Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We are also done shopping. I am working this morning. My dh is also working a few hours as are two of my sons, one til 5 and one til 7 pm. The reason why I say this is because myself and two sons work in stores where we are in a shopping center and dread leaving the parking lot. It takes us about 10 minutes to get out. As long as everyone is safe - we will live with it. :teleport:

Have a good one everyone :teleport:

Hey everyone! My mom hasn't posted on here yet (even though i've told her to a million times...) but anyway...
We're flying in the 28th, and staying at the Paradise Pier beforehand so we can go to DL and check out LA as well.
SIX MONTHS FROM TODAY!!

Good idea bumping us.

Six months - wow - getting close.

I was telling Wendy (AOIP157) once the new year starts - vacation is really coming/near.

PAGE 3!!!! What's going on? Doesn't anyone have anything to talk about? How's the weather were you are. It's been raining for about a week straight here. (It took a little break for the Rose Parade) We went up to the local mountains a couple of weeks ago and had to look for snow for the kids to play in and even that was pretty much ice, which is kind of fun to watch people walk on unless that person is me and I'm trying not to land on our almost 2 year old!! Fun, Fun!!! What's going on with you guys?? Amy :flower1:

Caught it just in time. We were the next thread to page 2.

Glad that the holidays are over. Got all the lights down and put away until next year. We have had near perfect weather lately. We continue to watch the airlines prices but they are not budging. Looks like super shuttle is going to be the way to get around. Hate to wish the year away but I am ready to cruise now.
