I am so excited! We got the July 2, 2005, cruise, and we'll be our very favorite stateroom, 5650. This is going to be an exciting year of anticipation. We sail the Wonder so often and we know the Orlando and Cocoa Beach areas so well that it's like another home. But now I'll be starting from Square One, just like everyone else!! My very "first" cruise :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:
I already dug up a ton of websites for planning purposes. This will be a great new trip to work out my compulsive planning instincts on.

Congratulations Barb.... isn't it exciting, we got the CA-FL repositioning cruise and I feel like I won the lottery today

Thta's the cruise we're getting a quote for as well! Maybe my DD and I will see you there! Keep your fingers crossed for us..... please! haven't heard anything official yet!

And once again

A Big Thank You! If it wasn't for your site, I would not be getting these great deals for the reclassifieds!

Thanks Again!

Barb,

We haven't seen/talked to each other in a while -- we were on the Western Caribbean LAST May (24-31) and sat next to each other on the computers one evening.

We just booked through AllSeasTravel for the 7/9 Mexican cruise and got Cabin 6562 -- we always get Deck 6.

Enjoy your Mexican cruise and it was nice "talking" to you again.

As I recall, you typically use DU. Did you get this ressie through them? Bunch of us still waiting to hear from them!

Nope, being an obsessive/compulsive, I snagged this one myself. I usually book my trips on board and then transfer them over to DU. I'm sure DU is working feverishly to get everyone's ressies, and I can just imagine the DCL phone lines!

congrats, i've been reading your trip reports for a few years now. i look forward to reading it in preparation for our trip, especially since this'll be quite different than the 37 other cruises (to date) you've taken so far with dcl.

originally we were going to try to book that week as well because dd's pre-school closes the week of 4th of july, but it was more expensive than we though, we decided to go with the repositioning cruise back to florida, especially since it coincides with my 5 year wedding anniversary and my dd's 4th birthday!

of course, living in california, it means we have to fly back to ca one way. the sacrifices we make!

Believe it or not, by the time the CA cruise comes around, it will be #44 for us (and hopefully the first and only time that we miss Castaway Cay). Hubby says his dream trip would be to do the back to back Eastern and Western right before the repositioning cruise, the repo cruise, and then the first CA sailing...he sure is a dreamer! I can't even imagine 5 weeks on a ship. I would weigh in at 300 pounds when we disembarked.

We just reserved July 2, also. Will put a deposit on Monday and we will have some time to really think about it. We were planning on doing the Wonder but are now trying to see if we can swing this one. We are three families so far. Hopefully in the near future, since you are the expert, you will start a thread of who is going July 2nd. Will talk soon.

I've got one started on the Cruise Meet Board. Hopefully there will be lots of DISers so we can have a good meet. And I'm going to beg and plead with the early CA cruise "trailblazers" to see if I can get some navs. beforehand so we can all be prepared. Reminds me of how I anxiously waited back in 1998 to hear from the first cruises because we were on #11 (or was it 12?) of the Magic.

Hi Barb and tony,
Congratulations to your new venture - I know the excitement must be awesome - Keep in touch and let me know how it goes.
Much love
Shirley

Just booked July 2 last night. Traveling with AnnaS and my parents. Kids and DH are excited. My parents originally said they wouldn't make the trip but decided to go for it. So we can celebrate after all! Won't have as many family members traveling as was originally planned- still trying to convince them.

My family (Husband, kids 8,6,2,1,&MIL) are going. We live about 25 minutes from port, are Disneyland Annual Passholders and we took a cruise with this itinerary about 3 years ago. Just have to say that we were pleasantly suprised how nice Mexico was after being on 2 Carribean cruises before Mex Riv. My only experience with Mexico before that was Tijuana and Ensenada (and they aren't too nice!!)and I was a bit leary prior to our cruise. It was great. The kids are very excited!! Talk to you all later...Amy:earsgirl:

Perhaps we can get some tips from Amy and anyone from CA as far as which airport, transfers, rent a car, fly in night before, etc.

Barbara will go over to the Dismeet thread and hopefully I will find it.:D

Hello!

We posted on your cruise meets thread, but saw that more people were onthis thread.

Count on me, DH (XLT800) and DS 13 and DD10 on the 7/2/05 cruise. DH and I will both celebrate b-day's that week.
Too bad I'll be turning 4-0!:(

Family is scheduled for the cruise. Am looking forward to it as it is closer to home.

Got back last Saturday from the 7 day eastern. Am already missing it!

Barb - will you be keeping this thread going for us here (July 2nd cruise) or should we continue on the cruise meets? Just saw this thread pop up here.

We have reserved rooms for the night before at the Holiday Inn. We had to decided between the Holiday Inn and The Sheraton. Honestly - we did not like the reviews on Tripadvisor for the other hotels and were worried. (WendyP and I have done a bit of exploring) We are curious to see what you come up with.

We will be staying three nights at Disneyland and have also booked there. Not sure if we will fly into Long Beach or Lax. Long Beach preferably.

Trying to decided if we should just take shuttle from airport to Holiday Inn and Shuttle from Holiday Inn ($3 p.p.) to port. We will need to rent a car after cruise.

Please post any info/exploring/links that you find interesting, car rental, shuttles, shore ex., etc.
