That's a nice way to make it through the day - getting your doc delivered :thumbsup2 :) :thumbsup2 :) :bounce:

I'll let you know when mine come.

Sheila
No kidding! I would love to get mine today. I emailed my TA at 6:00 this morning. Haven't heard from her yet. I probably won't until she has something to tell me. :) She hates to hear me whine. :rolleyes1

Patti

Well, just keep in mind, she (if she's like most TA's) will want to go through them and make sure all is correct. It would be irresponsible of the TA to NOT go through them and just call and say "hey they are here" so if she's busy she might not get to them right away.........welcome to my world......but since you emailed her, she'll know you are anxious and will probably get them to you ASAP!! :thumbsup2
Let me know when you all get them!!

I agree, but she's a friend of ours. She will probably let me know they are here, and then check them over. That's what she did with the invoices. :rotfl: I'm fine with that, I just want to know they are here! :thumbsup2 In fact, she goes to a bible study group that meets in the church right behind the school track where I walk. I see her truck every Tuesday, but generally don't see her. I guess I could crash her class and find out why I haven't heard from her today. :lmao: On second thought, that would be a bad idea. I might not get them until the day before we leave!

Patti

I think you should just go sit on top of her truck and wait for her!!!! :rotfl2:
Then she'll get the point!! :teeth:

 :Pinkbounc :thumbsup2 :bounce:

I got them, I got them :woohoo:

When I got home from work the UPS man was coming down the street and he stopped at my house :yay: with my cruise docs in hand :cheer2:

She wasn't there today!! :confused3 How weird. She knew I would be looking for her today! :lmao: She hasn't called, but may have sent the email to work. Silly woman, she NEEDS to call me!

Congrats on getting yours too Sheila!

Patti

Patti-
She probably didn't go today because she's too busy going over your docs at her office!!!

Sorry Patti, but we got ours today. Mom was taking a nap on our couch while the rest of us were in the pool. When we came in she said, "I think you have mail". I was so surprised to see it. Yippee. Sorry.

Ok, we've filled out all the forms on the site and printed and signed the one form. Do we need to fill out the whole book? Ack. :badpc:

I'm sure everybody else will get theirs tomorrow.

I told me DF that my meals will consist of fruit for breakfast and lunch and then creme brulee, souffles and bananas foster for dinner. Whadda ya think?

Dad was laughing so hard that I thought he'd pee in my pool. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

And so what, may I ask, is wrong with that? :thumbsup2 It sounds like a very healthy diet to me: fruit and dairy products! I'm with ya!!! :cool1:

Documents here too today. Sorry Patti. I also was surprised to see the "little" package: the last time we cruised was in '03, and we got a big package then. Seems filling everything out on line is going to be a big time-saver!

More Melissa/cell phone news: she has now informed me that she probably spent her entire vacation money saved on her text messages yesterday!! :scared1: (She pays me for anything she sends over the very generous text package we have...) It's only Tuesday!!! Fortunately, she has a job at the store that I have.........and I guess I'll be working her alot to pay for those messages!!! ;)

And Lisa, thinking more about the internet: I am leaning towards it, if only to preserve a peaceful vacation for me!!! :p

Good morning everyone! I had an email from my TA at 7:50 last night on my work account. The documents were received at her home office yesterday afternoon, and as soon as they check them in, they will be on the way to her. Whew! Now I can stop stressing about that, there is plenty more, but that is ok. :teeth: The stress of this trip is killing me! :sad2: I'm getting sick, and can squeeze in seeing the doctor on Friday, hope he has time in his schedule then too! :lmao:

Is anyone going to watch the College World Series? If so, welcome to my beautiful city! You will see our world class zoo in the background, and for some reason, the week of the CWS is almost always the hottest week of the year! :woohoo:

We are going to do the wireless internet package. DH is taking his laptop, so if I get really lucky, I will have access from our verandah! That way I can aggravate my co-workers with beautiful pictures all week! :cool1:

Besides, I don't know if he can be away from his military truck group for that long! :sad2: :lmao: I don't want to hear ONE word about my time on the boards and with my group that has been together for about 10 years! :teeth:

Ok, I better try and do some of that work thing. I've been coming in early because I need to leave early tomorrow and Friday. :moped:

Patti

Glad to hear the docs are in Patti  I was thinking about you last night when I was looking through my docs. There's only 4 of us and I feel like I have a lot of paper this time; between the hotel the night before, rental car, cruise docs, passports, DVC stay after the cruise....and I'm typically an organized person :) I can't imagine being in charge of 21 :tilt:

When I was going through the docs last night, from what I could tell, if you checked-in on-line, you don't have to do any of the forms in the book - the only ones you need to have with you are the cruise contract (which I had already printed the signature page off the site) and the famous "charging privileges" form :thumbsup2 - and again, I did those on-line.

I did read somewhere, I think on the DCL site, that they now have hot spots on the ship, so you probably can sit on the deck and access the internet :surfweb: .

Who's the first to leave - Lisa - are you leaving a week from Sat?

LOL! That's why I have a TA! :teeth: She is in charge of keeping everything together. I helped schedule excursions, get final payments in, answer questions (with the help of the DIS), get online forms filled out, schedule Palo, make sure everyone had their passport/renewal/docs, and I'm sure there is more, but it's going to be worth it! :woohoo: I need to figure out how to relax in these last 2 weeks or I won't enjoy the vacation! :guilty: I'm SO stressed!

I hope we can get a good wireless signal. We may not have to use it, but just in case! Besides, I really need to keep in touch with my dog sitter. :dog2: That reminds me, I need to make myself a note to put my cc # on file with the vet in case he would need to take one of them in.

Do you guys ever look back through pictures that are even a few months old and are amazed at how your child has turned into a young adult? I saw some pictures of Jess from last summer, then over Christmas, and now recently. The change from summer to Christmas was startling! :scared1: AAAHHHHH!

Patti

Patti- Thank goodness you got those docs...or will soon anyway! Now one less thing for you to stress about!
And I've heard the wireless packages are not real great as far as pricing! I've not totally checked into it as I don't have a laptop (think the sisters are taking theirs) but from what I've read, it's pretty pricey compared to the unlimited on the DCL ones. I for one want NOTHING to do with email the entire time I'm gone! I'd like to talk with my parents on the 4th of July but that's about it! We want to try and call them from Grand Cayman! :goodvibes

And yes, according to DCL, you do not need to fill our those "booklets" if you checked in on-line. In fact, my document packet did not even have the booklet, just a letter saying "thanks for checking in on line, don't forget the signature paper etc......." but both my sisters packets did have the booklets in them. Double checked w/ DCL and they said no, don't fill them out as they are all set to go! :thumbsup2

Sheila-We leave on Thursday June 29th! OMG :teeth: 2 weeks from tomorrow!!!!

Nancy-Oh my! Melissa and Alexa sound like the same child as far as the cell phone/texting goes! I'm sure they can't imagine how we old folks EVER lived without cell phones!!
I'll wait for YOU to decide about the unlimited internet!! :rotfl:

So you're all set with a dog sitter? Did you end up with the boy in the neighborhood?

I have a couple pics of the girls when they were around 4 & 5 years old that I keep out because they are such great pics.....but it's amazing to think how long ago that was. I also keep a pic of them and my mother (she passed away 16 months ago) from when they were about the same age and they were playing in the yard together! I love having pics but if I take out a photo album and start looking, you can figure there's no use trying to get me to do anything for several hours :)

Sheila

Sheila- that's great about the picture you have of your mom and your girls! :goodvibes I'm sorry about your loss! I know 16months is not that long ago and it must still be hard! And yes, if I sit down with a photo album, forget about getting anything else done! :)

I'm taking my cat, Simba to a cat boarding place! I don't even like to think about it! :sad2: It's a wonderful place and he will be fine and they ONLY take cats so he won't have to hear dogs bark or anything (he's a chicken!) but makes me so sad but I have to take him somewhere!
Last time we cruised (9/04), I left him home and had a friend come over TWICE a day to feed him and talk to him etc......well he was SOOOOO mad at me he decided that he was going to make his liter box ON MY BED!!! On my $200.00 comforter!! :furious: Guess he was going to show me!!!!! :guilty:
So this time, I know I can keep bedroom doors closed BUT then I'm afriad he would go for the furniture or the carpet and I can NOT afford to replace those!
We had moved just a couple of months before we cruised so I think that has something to do with it. A new house, new neighborhood and his mommy leaves him! :sad2:

Yep, dog sitter all set up! We can't seem to make contact, but that is dh's job today. :rotfl: All that means is I will end up doing it later today.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom. What a great memory to have!

Patti

Lisa - I definitely get the "cold shoulder" from my dog when we've been away for a while. I will say she loves the kennel, which is great, but at the same time, she knows we've been away. We had gone years without having a dog and when we decided to get one (3 years ago), she became such a member of the family, we now buy her something to bring home with us - she's like having another child :)

GOT THEM!!!! :thumbsup2

Cruise docs, that is!!! Came yesterday.

Just started to go through them, but I'm SWAMPED right now, preparing for this family reunion this weekend, which, of course, is also Father's Day (and DH's birthday!).

We are all supposed to bring something for pitch-in meals . . . ours will have to be really simple!!

We leave tomorrow for Pigeon Forge, TN, and will get back Tuesday night, 6/20. Then only 10 days until the cruise (we are going a day early, spending the night at Radisson at the Port).

Lisa, Jennifer is very mad at me for getting her a cheap Tracfone. I control how many minutes I add to the phone at a time. I deliberately did not get her one of those unlimited plans, because I knew she would be talking/texting all the time!!

We had dogs like that! The cockers that we had in GA and MD had seperation anxiety! :sad2: They would take the cushions off the couch, unzip them, and tear the stuffing out! They never tore the cover, just ripped the stuffing up and spread it all over the living room. They took decorations off the Christmas tree and broke them, again all over the living room. :furious: We started leaving a radio on, and that helped a LOT! Then we moved to MD, and they figured they had to wee over ever inch of that house everyday while we were gone! I spent everyday with a bucket and mop after work. :furious: Once my big dog got past puppy stage, we didn't have any more of that. He ripped up the cable, chewed a peep hole in the vertical cloth blinds, dumped a HUGE planted, dug in the dirt, and tore the plant up all over the living room, and pulled my computer mouse off the desk and chewed it off the cord. That was all in ONE afternoon! :sad2:
Mine don't board well, especially at their age, so a sitter is my only option.
