July 15, 2013- WONDER if a Mickey Bar will melt in Alaska?

Hi all,
just talked to one of my many personal cruise directors and got the sked for special nights. So far unless it changes it is from the 15th on:
Monday we sail, tues is a formal night, wed and thurs casual, fri pixar pals night, sat semi formal night - need laces on the flip-flops, sunday casual, monday dock. Pixar pals night is a deck party with disney pixar characters i.e. woody and buzz light year. you all get the idea. No fireworks in Alaska upsets the wildlife.

Asked the cruise dir person about a place for a meet and greet. he said it can be done but you have to go thru dcl function requests. can get a conf room or maybe a closed bar area. bad thing is you dont know what or when until two weeks before you sail and no doubt there is a charge involved. will look into this if anyone thinks it's worth a look.

Hi My family will be on this cruise, too. It's DH, DD11 and I. This will be our 4th DCL cruise, 1st to Alaska.

So far, flights, hotel in Vancouver and tours in Juneau are all booked. We're doing whale watching with Rum Runner then gold panning in the afternoon there.

Hoping for a DCL excursion in Ketchikan and can't decide what to do yet in Skagway - oh, decisions, decisions!

Really looking forward to this cruise.

I've just checked my email and have a notification that we are getting a refund from DCL - approx. $8 each, but it's better than nothing.

I know! I've looked at all the reviews of all the different tours and think I've confused myself altogether!

DD really wants to do the Potlatch Totem Park (with the special kid's activity) so I'll go along with her to that - if we can get it. My DH really wants to go salmon fishing, but none of the boats will take a single fisher, so he'll just have to try to get a space through DCL.

Which tours are you hoping for?

We are hoping for the Wilderness Exploration and Crab Feast in Ketichikan and the Street Car and White Pass Railway in Skagway. If the Skagway one doesn't work, we have back up choices, but really don't for Ketchikan. I would love to do the snorkeling one, but no-one will do it with me!

My DD really wants to pan for gold.....anyone know how to reserve that? I am concerned that the Port Adventures will be booked when we get our big chance!

I have some bad news!!! Karrie and I will no longer be traveling on the Cruise to Alaska. Due to some unforseen circumstances we have to switch our trip. We are now going to be traveling on the Fantasy in June. Hope you all have a GREAT time!!!!!

I booked through Viator - there were a few different times available for our Juneau day.

We also got a refund, but it didn't state why - I'm guessing a difference in port fees? Anyhow, now we'll have an extra $8 each to spend on the cruise!
