July 12, 2011 - Sailing to Alaska is WONDERful style!!!

We will be participating in the Fish Extender gift exchange as well.
We had a kids board for our last cruise - it was not too busy - all depends on the ages of the kids

One other thing we did on our last cruise was a Scavenger Hunt - It was a lot of fun. I still have the "hunt" list. It was for the Magic. I am sure I can make one for the Wonder. This was a family event. Just another "event" we can put on the options list.

Erin,

Just let me know if you need any help or need to assign something to someone. :thumbsup2

It's time to throw all our energy into planning this cruise! We booked a year ago, but were too focused on planning the med and WB Transatlantic
B2B to even think about it...We are soooooo sad that trip of a lifetime is over, but happy we have Alaska to look forward to.

There are 10 of us booked...including my sister and brother in law who live in (and LOVE) Anchorage, AK.

I'll do my best to check in here every now and then.

Hello---We are very excited to be going on this cruise in July---there will be 10 of us in our party----myself, my DH and 3 kids----my MIL/FIL---my SIL/BIL and their little girl--- We are celebrating the in laws anniversary and my DH & I's 10th anniversary. I lived in Alaska yrs ago but am looking forward to experience with the others as this is the first time for everyone else!

Do any of you know if they are starting a fish extender list for this cruise???
We cruised our first Disney cruise last year on the Magic--and my girls had a blast running around putting gifts in everyones fish extenders!!!

Hi Wendi and :welcome:

Sounds like a nice group of people you are going with. My DH has been to Alaska many many times on a ship just never a cruise ship if you know what I mean.

You should check with Erin, crzy4dals. I believe she has started a FE list. She can also hook you up to the FB account.

We are doing a Western on the Magic later this month. I just finished boxing up our FE gifts for that cruise this morning...so I am very much in the FE mood today! It ended up taking 3 boxes! Thankfully, we are flying SW and have the extra luggage room. :lmao:

Fish Extenders.... We are in two staterooms and would like to participate in fish extenders. Is the only way to participate in this group on facebook? I don't do facebook, but hopefully can still get on the FE list!
Thanks.

NO this group is not just facebook --- just a really quiet group... I will add you to the FE group.

Yay, I ordered our fish extender on eBay! Count us in for scavenger hunt too!

267 days !!!!!
Working on the website adding more cruisers!
Anyone want to send me you family pic for the site????

Thanks for the warm welcome Linda---well its offical--our rooms are 11A inside stateroom----not sure about this---the last cruise was a little rocky and I got sea sick :sick: So well will see how this is w/ out a window to look out :scared1::scared1:

So do they still have a pirate night on this cruise????
And are most people flying to Seattle and taking amtrack to Vancouver or just flying straight to Vancouver----we have 5 tickets alone to pay for so I was just wondering if one was cheaper than the other??????????

Looking forward to talking to everyone as the days count down!!!!:banana:

I was just at Target and they had all kinds of Disney Princess and Cars stuff in the $1 section. I picked up a princess white board to put on our cabin door, just have to add magnets to the back. They had journals, pencils, pens, card games, socks, all kinds of stuff!

Just thought I would let you know! Wish I knew how many people to plan for in the FE exchange!

Please add two for the FE from our group. I will post names and rooms on Facebook. Thanks!

238 days until we cruise!

What has everyone been doing to prepare for the trip.

We are booking flights soon before rates rise.
Waiting on official shore excursions to be announced.
A few FE gifts bought for the kids.

I've been checking out airline flights.... Is anyone staying at one of the Disney hotels before the cruise? Yikes, I looked them up online :surfweb: at the Fairmont hotel site & was shocked at the prices. Has anyone sailed out of Vancouver before and could tell me if staying at the Waterfront is worth it because you can walk to the ship? (at least I think you can by looking at the map). One less taxi ride for us & all our luggage would be great.

I just looked up flights and it would be over $1000 for us to fly in. I think we are just going to go ahead and drive up and make a few stops along the way.

I'll start researching where we will stay the night before and check out excursions that are offered on other cruiselines.

What are the suggestions for the night before?

Thanks,
Linda

226 days until we board the Wonder!!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I enjoyed some black friday shopping.

I will be booking our flights this week before the rates go up.
Looking for hotels... Possibly one night in Seattle - take the train up and a day in Vancouver before the cruise......

I have started a Cruise Bucket for any little things I pick up for FE's or room necessities....

How is planning going for everyone?
