July 11 - 18 "Magic" Cruise to the Western Caribbean

Yes it is. :thumbsup2 The current plan at NASA is to solve the hydrogen leak problems and then launch on July 11th. The bad news is that the launch is scheduled for 7:39 PM, after we should have already pulled out of Port Canaveral. The Good news is that although it wont be as spectacular a site as it would be were we still in port, we should still be able to see the shuttle as is ascends up into orbit.

Keeping my fingers crossed that there are no more delays. I haven’t seen a launch that close up since I was a kid. Way too cool:cool1:

Here’s a link to the NASA’s current launch schedules. Just scroll down and look for STS-127

That would be fabulous to see the shuttle launch!:goodvibes

I also got my cruise docs on Monday. The funny thing is that they came addressed to my 12 year old daughter. Go figure :confused3 They put three of us in one book, and her in the other book so they probably just took the name from that book, but it was still strange.

Do you think that they may "hover" or delay leaving the area to be able to see the launch? We're coming early on Friday and spending the day at Kennedy Space Center and that would be the icing on the cake to see the launch!! It's fun to see pictures of the kids!

Almost 3 weeks...wow!!!

Chris

I was hoping more adults would post their pictures (even though the kids are cute). I have a very hard time remembering names and faces. Any head- start I can get will help me recognize you when we cross paths on the ship.

We received the last of our Docs on Monday.

Here is a picture of us from our trip to WDW last summer.

DS: Jonathan (9), DD: Madison (5)

It's tiny, but I finally got the whole picture to show up. Hope this helps somewhat in identifying us. My hair is shorter.

This is from our fishing trip last Friday. We had to stay near the jettys..........it was too rough to go out too far.

We don’t believe we’re particularly photogenic (well… Max is, but us… not so much ;)), but we’ll play along. Here’s a shot taken on the Wonder in 2007 that not too bad.

And since Max is insists on growing bigger by the day, here’s a more recent shot of him form this summer.

Rob/Tamara: That's a great picture! I bet me and Ann (DW) will have to work to keep our 14 year old DD away from Max. :)

Craig and Holly... Right? Those are some big fish! WOW!

Jannee and Jared: Are you guys from Northern or Southern CA? Cute Family!

MomCloud: Every little bit helps.... :)

Thanks
Jeff

We are from Southern CA. We live about 30 miles east of Los Angeles and about 20 miles North of Anaheim (Disneyland).

Okay, I think I got this right this time. This is a more recent picture at my DD Rachel's graduation-part of our reason for this cruise.

Is anyone going to make nametags for our group for our meet? If no one was planning to, I would like to do that. Just let me know so I can get the stuff to do it. My kids are at camp next week so I should have time to get it done.

I now declare it officially time to start "buckling down" -

Time to be getting all the details in order and ...........sorting outfits and PACKING!!!!!

Yes - it will take me 3 weeks to make sure I have everything we need - packed as lightly as possible - and have time to go get any last minute stuff!!! Such as.....still need biodegradable sunscreen, treats for the CM goodie bags, sun hats for both kids (last year's are too small), finish the FE gifts..........this next few weeks is going to bo quickly - "I just KNOW IT!!!":rotfl::yay::dance3:

I have been collecting things we will need for our trip for awhile now and shoving them into a box in my closet. I finally decided it was time to pull out the suitcases and start thinking about packing. It took most of last Sunday just to get everything (not including clothes) into one spot.

We also try to be light packers and this is the first time I plan to do laundry on the ship. We always do laundry at WDW so it is not new to us.

Having to pay for every bag that is checked is a great motivator for packing light. We are hoping to get everything into two suitcases and a garment bag. Wish us luck!

I finally got my doc's on Monday. They were shoved under my front door mat so who knows how long they had been there. Luckily it was me who found them as my kids still have no idea we are doing the cruise. My DH and I are very proud of ourselves that we haven't let it slip yet, especially since we booked the cruise last July. It has only been sticky when people ask us when we are coming back as the kids think we come home on July 11th and we really aren't returning until July 22nd.

Hope everyone is having a great day. It is my first official day of summer vacation :banana:and I am enjoying relaxing in my bed. (It is only 7:53am in CA!:goodvibes) I probably should get up now and get some laundry done as we have several busy days leading up to Tuesday when we leave for WDW!!!

GREAT JOB!! I usually try to incorporate some type of surprise factor - but I couldn't even keep the fact that we are flying and not driving a secret this time around!! -

We say: Go right ahead. Anything that anyone wants to add to the whole experience is good by us.:thumbsup2

We’re doing something similar. Our DS knows that were going on the Magic (we told him on his birthday back in May), but he doesn’t know that when we get back, the drive home will actually be a short hop over to WDW. We had a couple of days left on our Park-Hoppers from our the last trip to the “World”, so all we needed to do was get a place to stay (and permission from the employer for a couple of extra days off in a row;)).

We started out with 3 nights at Pop-Century, but latter found a promo that let us upgrade that to Caribbean-Beach for only twenty bucks more. Now we’re seriously considering checking out upgrading our cabin at the port. We're perfectly happy with the Cat-11 we got, but it never hurts to ask what’s available. They might surprise us.:goodvibes
