I dont know what to do, oh well, live and learn I guess!!

Me too I'm sure but I would rather be over packed than underpacked! I've done that before and it was not pleasant!!!!

What flight are you on? We are on the noon southwest flight out of Houston on Friday. It would be neat if both of our Andrews could meet since they are both 9 years old! We will be staying at the Hyatt that night also. So if not on the flight, maybe at the hotel!

Yah, we've been watching the NASA schedule and keeping out fingers crossed. At first, they were planning to launch the Ares I-X Flight Test mission this Saturday, but that got pushed back to August 30. When they started having fueling problem with the Endeavour, my first thought was “well if they have to reschedule that mission, then the 11th is certainly open”. Of course, as soon as I thought it, I felt bad about it. As a supporter of NASA and exploration in general, the thing to do was hope they straightened out the problem and got her off that week. But such was not to be. I was actually surprised when they reset to clock to the 11th. Now we’re hoping that the captain will take his time leaving the Canaveral area. Another veteran cruiser told us that if possible, they’d circle until launch time and then heave to for the best view. That would be awesome. We’ll see if the two and a half hour delay is more then DCL is willing to incur.

Still keeping my fingers crossed.

I am packing, but am I weird- my first cruise and I have fit most everything in 1 suitcase each? We have a hanging bag and some carry on stuff. I have heard of people packing too much first time out, but I feel like I packed pretty conservatively. Maybe I forgot something?

I know....1 more work day after today!!!

I just got my monthly staff meeting out of the way and we have a long lunch tomorrow to celebrate one of the dentist's birthdays, so I am on the downhill slide.......

We don't fly in until Saturday AM so Friday night will be full of laughter and giggles and "I'm too excited to sleep" at my house......and that will just be from me and Granny!!!

We are not able to sail... daughter has developed a huge blood clot and is on blood thinners twice a day for 12 weeks...They discovered it after they had removed her pick(sp) line Monday....It is so reassuring to hear that it is one of the largest they have seen. She can't fly and her doctors do not want her out on the water away from emergency care because of the risk of throwing a clot...So through tears of fear for her and sadness of not being able to make the cruise I wanted to let you guys know and to say I'm sorry for the FE gifts you had made us.. I have your FE gifts - I had made monthly 4X6 calendars that sit in a plastic 4 X 6 frame - each month had a different picture from the ship or characters... If you would like yours, just PM me your address and I'll mail them to you... I'd love to do that since I have 14 SETS made up and I'd hate to waste them. I think I could also email them and you could print them... I may also have to cancel my Alaska trip (you know mom's - I feel like I have to be here to help her/watch over her) - we see another doctor tomorrow - I wanted a second opinion....Have a wonderful trip and I've loved talking to everyone...But I'm convinced this trip wasn't meant to be...

GOFENMOM: So sorry to hear your news - Our prayers are with you. It's sad you won't be joining us since you are the one that started all of this.

NASA Launch: As of today's 10:00am conference, NASA is reporting the shuttle has a 40% chance of liftoff on Saturday, based on expected thunderstorms in the area. (But I REALLY REALLY wanted to see a launch!)

I better start packing, we leave Friday.

Hopefully the doctors can get all the medical issues straightened out as soon a possible and you’ll be able to get out to sea in the near future. Georgiana - I am SO SORRY!!! I have tears for you - I know y'all were looking forward to a relaxing vacation.

I understand your fears and concerns though and your need to stay with Melissa!

Do not worry for one minute about the FE stuff!!! I am sure I speak for everyone when I say that it is the least important thing for you to be concerned about right now!! We may however PM you to get YOUR address because it sounds like you may need more than an FE gift - y'all need a full fledged care package!!

I'm at work.....wish I was at home!! LOL! Today is my last day of work -I'm off on Fridays anyway!

Kamryn and I are going to get pampered and mani/pedi's tomorrow AM, pick up Kason and then to spend the day with a friend by the pool -starting off the relaxing mood!!

Mom will come over tomorrow night to spend the night and we have an early flight out of ATL Saturday morning. It's only a 30-45 min drive to the airport and the weather looks clear so I'm not too anxious about coming in on Sat AM.

We start the drive to Canaveral in the morning (hopefully). I still have to work this evening, late tonight and most likely tomorrow morning as well. Hopefully I can get out of there around 10:00 but at worst it will be between 12:00 and 1:00. The earlier the better. We really don’t want to be getting into Cocoa beach at 1am if we can help it.
