July 10, 2011--DIS PEEPS reunite on the Disney Dream!

Sorry - FAB -- Frosty Adult Beverage. Learned that one here on the boards.

I have a list of texting abreviations that I got off the web. Really scary stuff. It (the list) was designed to allow adults to understand what their kids were saying. VERY SCARY. P911 - Parent alerty; PAW - parent's are watching, etc., mostly designed to be obscure around adults. NALOPKT (Umm, Not A Lot Of People Know That). I have enough trouble with many of the abreviations here. I constantly have to look them up - I did print the list from one of the threads. I always get the resort abreviations mixed up.

Yeah, I heard about Remy's and was excited until I saw the extra cost. I hope that includes the wine list or something. Especially since it is so much more expensive than Palo's.

DW and I have not been to Palo's at all, only two cruises so far. We kinda like eating with the kids. I actually think it's fun watching them try foods that they would never consider at home. Still haven't gotten either of them (or the DW) to try escargot. Oh well, more for me.

ah frosty grown-upy type drink. I will have to try one of those sometime.

psst. Palo means pole in Italian. One pole. The pole used to move the gondolas down the canals.

I read about a web site that lists those abbreviations. Can't remember what it was called... notext or no-something dot com.

Gee, and I thought Palo had some meaning along the line of "friend". Probably thinking along the lines of Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble - "Hi ya Fred, pal 'o mine."

Show's how much (little) I know. I was once informed by one of my professors that I (along with everyone else in the class - I was not singled out on this one, contrary to popular belief) would spend the rest of our lives manageing our ignorance. I have found that statement to be more true than I ever could have thought. The more I learn, see, hear, the more I realize how little I really do know or can even begin to understand.

Wow, that was WAY too deep for this early in the morning.

I missed a lot. Pole dancing, skanky ho, dancing on the bar (I would have fallen off anyway). Only MY DD would want to go to bed early.

"Managing our ignorance".... hmmm profound that is at any time of the day.

I missed skanky ho and dancing on the bar too..but I blame it on my husband

Thank god for Beano's camera...then again..sometimes that comes back to bite you in the tush too...right veranda girls???

Gee, I hope my DW still allows me to come on this cruise:scared1:

Then again, I'm somehow looking forward to this more and more . .:rotfl:

not sure who these verandah girls are... but hurray for Beano's magic camera. (newbies: Beano makes a video of all of our vacations so what happens on board doesn't necessarliy stay on board. You have been warned:laughing:)

Carnival Splendor anyone? Wanted to get to the dock to get pictures but all of the radio stations are asking people to stay 'way and leave 'lone. I guess with the Veteran's Day parade and the crowd of people picking up passengers it is a big traffic jam.

Hello All,

We are locked in for the July 10 sailing! It will be me, DW, DS (9),DS (8),and DD (4). Everyone is excited and my oldest has already begun a countdown.

Pete

Hello Dawn Patrol. Where are you coming from? First Disney cruise? Mother's maiden name? Savings account #? :rolleyes1

(when you read thru the thread you will understand)

:welcome:

Oh ps: Hi again everyone!! I haven't posted on this board since last March, but shh, it's ok. Just wanted to pop in again and see how everyone was doing :)

and then look at some of the past threads. Thanks for the warning on Beano's camara. Much of what I do for work is recorded, so I have gotten quite used to my foibles becoming part of posterity. Makes me very conscious of not saying "ummm" or "like" or any other go to word for filling in moments of silence.

Once I can identify Beano, I'll just stand behind him. Problem solved. Maybe I'll even start using my camera and hide behind it/ Yeah, that's an idea. I hope I can get good pictures and keep the camera steady while I'm dancing on the bar.:goodvibes

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

You'll be just fine!

What part of Michigan are you from?

We are in Portland, just west of Lansing. Moved away from where we grew up in Northwest Indiana.

LOL? You think I was kidding about the bank account numbers?

yeah well ok. :rolleyes1

Ever danced on a bar?

:confused3

Does anyone know if there is a formal night on our cruise? And what about the other nights....any ideas?

If there is will you bring your pink princess gown? You were so pretty!

I am anxious to hear from the first Dream cruisers. Menu, pools and mostly the crowds on CC. Now that OUR spot has been taken away, where will the new spot be?

so are we talkin' "mohawk and safety pins in the nose" new look? :rotfl: maybe we could start a new tradition by coming to dinner in jammies. That way we don't have to change before hitting whatever is the new Rockin Bar D.

(when do we warn the CM's that we are coming?)
