It was awesome for Julie to give kudos to my favourite chocolate store Laura Secord here in Canada. The historical figure Laura Secord is a huge hero and figure in my home area of Niagara since this is the area where she made her journey.

I am a huge fan and my favourite is French Crisp !!! MMMMM Hubby brought me a mini box last week, they are so good.

So Julie do you have some favourites or should all us Canadian fans just send a lot of mixed boxes.

Michelle

PS I've alway pronounced it Laura SEACORD, any other canadians can confirm.

Your pronunciation is correct, Sea-cord.

She had nothing to do with chocolate, the company was named in her honor.
My late father was a big fan of Laura Secord chocolates, Gingers to be precise.

Just a little info for those that may be curious....

Trust me Julie, you don't want a box of chocolate covered gingers.

For me growing up in Ontario Easter wasn't right without my Laura Secord egg.....but it has to be the one in the purple box. I had to have one sent to me my first Easter away. And then the french crisps....

Laura Secord is harder to find in Western Canada....when I brought up Laura Secord when I first moved away I was quickly corrected Purdy's are prefered out west.

Is it wrong that I haven't had a Laura Secord chocolate in lord knows how long. I can't even remember the last time. Sounds like a great excuse to eat chocolate.:banana:

And the last time we were home in Canada, the only store I could get to was out of French Mint bars.
:headache::headache::headache:
How wrong is that?!!!
Anyone in Canada that'd be willing to mail some (prepaid of course) to an expat, PM me, please!
:worship::worship:

I wish they would be available in Canada in Epcot!! Wouldn't that be a great representation of Canada???
