We got our Wish Flight swag this week too and it made it oh so real. Hopefully we can see each other at the party on Saturday night!

I hope you will all be able to attend the MNSSHP! You do know that you can enter at 4 pm even though it doesn't officially start until 7 pm. Can't believe that you'll be starting James' wish trip in a little over a week!

Hope you are all getting over your colds and feeling better and that James' Remicade treatment goes well tomorrow.

Thanks  we are mostly getting over colds now, James has a we bit of a cough left as well as I, and My DH (Tony) is jussst now getting it so hopefully he will be all over it by trip time told'm this morning he has a week to get sick and get better :lmao::rotfl2: lol that sounded so loving !

we did not get tickets for that friday because when we arrive in orlando it will be nearly 5pm which means we can not have orientation until 7:30ish bringing us out at 8:30ish by time i round everyone up we are looking at 8... nd since it would mean 1st time driving I know it says 20 mins to disney I will say an hourish lol we would get there about 9 with parking time we might be in park by 9:30. to me that seems too expensive to purchase just for an hour or two so we will try later in week hehehe and HAppy to see someone else who is on Wishflight ! we still have no idea what to expect, My kiddos are very shy so all the extra attention should be interesting lol makes me giggle when thinking about it, what a way to experiance a 1st flight :rotfl:

We called GKTW and they also have a 9 AM orientation so we are going to that one. I figured the kids will be up until midnight and need to sleep in so Saturday I'll get up earlier to go to orientation, we'll all have ice cream for breakfast (!) and then we'll head to US for a few hours (back in time for the AA party).

So, if you skip 7:45 orientation and do it in the morning you would have plenty of time!

And if they say 20 I say I CAN MAKE IT IN TEN!! (Kidding. Mostly.)

My thoughts for what they are worth:rolleyes1:)...I would plan to attend on a day where I could make sure that I can be there for 4pm when they let party patrons in with their tickets...that way you get more for your money. Also, if your plane is scheduled to arrive at 5 pm in Orlando, it will probably be at least six before you get to GKTW after getting luggage and everything.

Although, it would be fun to go with people you know! I have recommended going on Sunday the 3rd to a friend who will be down there that week (non-wish trip).

Lynn

The plane lands at 3:35.

I just found out about the 4 PM opening. That's great! I think we can get there by 6. I really wanted to give the kids the Magic Kingdom experience off the bat. I've already bought my "non-transferable, non-refundable" tickets anyway so we can only hope for the best. I'm sure it will be wonderful!

Sunday we will be going to Fantasmic.

I agree ! my thinking is also this, If we are going to pay 200+ to get into it, I would like to get every minute possible from it lol and after a day of flying/partying GKTW looks like excitement enough for evening 1 for us considering I have no clue how James tummy, Katelynn's tummy and lordy now even mine will handle all the excitement of the day. If we feel adventerous that night we will go to Downtown Disney and browse around but DH and I are seriosuly considering watching movies that night in the villa etc

How cool your plane lands before ours :) ours is ORLANDO INTL
5:10 PM

Thats what's so cool about these Wish Trips, the variety and flexibilty is there as each family needs it thank goodness ! and no matter what it will be so magical :) :grouphug::grouphug::cheer2::cheer2:

EVENING BABBLE -

LOL i had to put that in since this is not a trip update etc just some random babbling, that way if you are not in the mood to just read someones random babbling about nothing you are forwarned hehehehe

James Remicade was today. Overall it went well, I am NOT happy at how late they started it. How fast they adminstered it. HOw they did not check his BP as often as they are suppose to. and the fact .... GRRR this one gets me the most .... The saline flush at the end was almost 100% non existant. and after treatment finishes they are suppose to keep him for observations for 30 to 45 mins. She was going to release him within 10 mins. Luckily she was sidetracked and he ultimatly stayed the extra 30 anyways but goodness me ( I have other words in mind besides goodness here... but I will keep those to myself !)

If they had administered the treatment a bit more slowly I don;t think james would be so ill tonight. He was acting quite bizarre today during/after treatment mood wise and by time we come home his tummy was upset and he even had a hard time sleeping.

The positives of today is.....

see if i Gripe i really try to see the positives right after so bear with me.

The positives of today was this.

James was very clingy with his sister and he wanted her to come along. By all rights she should have been in class but my heart melted when he begged for his big sis to be with him so I caved. Other than feeling guilty for allowing her to miss a day for this, I beleive it was important to both of them. The bond they share is amazing and who am I to break that? she would not have had the opportunity to concentrate properly after him begging for her anyways. so very bitter sweet moment to me :)

second positive thats amazing ! James Wish coordinater came and sat with us today which was so nice. She is so awesome you guys you just have no idea. So down to earth, so easy to talk with ask questions to etc. and the idea that someone gave up several hours out of thier own busy schedule to sit with us while he gts treatment was amazing and awww she brought James a magazine, a puzzle magazine and MELT here we go my sappy side i jusssst melted (luckily I hide my emotions well 95% of the time in person) but her daughter put a lollypop bouquet together in a GI-Joe cup for James was tooo cute and sooooooo thoughtful and wallah a rare smile out of james :lovestruc

another positive of the day was A woman in the hospital was going around checking rooms out, a volunteer and she comes in and asks if james might want a small quilt. i went ahead and said sure i beleive he would he was napping at this moment from the benadryl that they give him awww you guys it was soo cute and had a cute notecard attached which said

This Blanket

My heart was thinking of you,
My hands knew what to do.

This blanket grew out of the love
I want to share with you.

I hope it will keep you warm,
and befriend you late at night.

I hope you'll come to love it
and be comforted by it's sight.

Let this blanket wrap you in friendship,
and cover you in love

Because this blanket was thinkng of you,
Long before it was even done.

AWwwwwwwwwwwwwwWWww melt
It's an organization called Projet Linus the tag that they added on inside of blanket has Linus from snoopy sitting holding his blankie sucking his thumb hehehe didnt notice tag until after we got home it's too cute and had a website www.projectlinus.org

and last awesome thing that happened today was ! we made it home safe an sound. ! ooowee I do have a fear of that darn interstate lol hate to drive it but I will do anything for my kids.. even face one of my greatest fears *sigh*

so that was our day....

Oh and 8 days prior to trip starting and 9 until wishflight itself ! :cool1::cheer2::yay::woohoo: lol lordy i need to work on the chores for before trip LOL time is running out :laundy:

Your count down really is counting down! :goodvibes I remember when it seemed much further away! I bet everyone will be getting super excited soon, esp with James' treatment being done now. :thumbsup2

I love the project linus blankets! We haven't done them before, but I know lots of people who have. A lot were made with the Disney give a day get a day program too. :goodvibes I might do that one with Aleks one day. You can buy kits at Walmart for the no sew blankets. hmmmm..... ideas..... Maybe the Girl Scout troop could do that! We already do a food drive and adopt a kid at the shelter for Christmas each year. That could be a new volunteer/charity thing. I also had them do a Big Give last year. lol. :goodvibes

And you can bet your booty I would have said something to that lovely nurse you had today...... :headache: But I do like how your Wish person came! I like the candy flower thing. I wanna try to do that too. Was it in Styrofoam or something? And then in a cup? Sounds cute. Picture? Or did he eat it already? Davy LOVES lollipops! He just ate his last one from Disney. He got Mickey Mouse head lollys at Disney when we went and they were soooo good. He only got to eat them every once in a while as a special treat and he just ate the last one. :goodvibes He is my lollipop boy!

Oh, and you gotta see his picture from his birthday today. Well, his first party anyway. His real party is Saturday, but his Uncle could not come that day, so he came over today and threw him a party! Sweet! Got him 2 train videos and an ice cream cake and pizza! Wow! Here is the pic.... Sorry to hijack your thread, but it is soooo cute!!!

This is his cheese smile. He just started this, you ask him to say cheese and he yells "Cheeeeeeese!" and smiles.
cheese2.jpg

Anyway..... See, I can babble too! :goodvibes

YOu are getting so close! I'm glad that James made it through the treatment okay today, but that stinks that the nurse didn't follow the protocol. I'm sure having the wish coordinator there was a nice treat. I hope he's feeling better today. :goodvibes

Catherine got a Project Linus quilt during one of her stays at Johns Hopkins, and it's definitely a favorite in our house. It's a really unique quilt with so many different squares. That's awesome that James got one.

Well I wasnt so sure I was goign to get a chance to come in this evenign to babble away but here I am, James is doing slightly better this evening getting his appetite back :) so he should 100% be all set to go for trip next week :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay: Can't beleive we can say Next Week LOL :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

ok on another note I wanted to share something here while I dared to.
On my free time (hahahahaha a mum with free time) ok seriously now.

On my free time I write poetry and this one was written with James wish coordinater in mind and everyone who has been part of making the kids trip so special. This is to her , The Dream Factory, AA, Something Maagic Foundation, Big Give Crew :cheer2: and even GKTW even though we have yet to have the honor to experiance it. This is to everyone we have met, and not met. the up front people and those behind the scenes to even the other lil ones helping make James and Katelynn smile.

This is in rough draft form and when I get the chance to edit and do my Poetry adding to it I will repost (most likely it will have to be reposted in our TR) so here goes.

Thank You

Time leads to Hope,

Hope leads to Joy,

Joy leads to Wonder,

Wonder leads to Innocence,

Innocence leads to wonder,

Wonder leads to joy,

Joy leads to hope,

Hope leads to Time.

Like a Celtic knot, life seems to circle around you.

When something comes along that breaks into that circle;

Be it good, be it bad. It forever adds a new path,

in the never ending knot.

This break into the knot was you. All of you.

A collaborative effort of time, energy and love

That you have given to everyone you touch

An event so breathtaking and heartwarming

For

You have given

I know you say you get more then you receive.

I would like to reconsider that statement,

Compliment that option.

I would like to find the words to say thank you

Words that I find lack the magnitude of how I feel

During this time of accepting.

We have received far more then I think you realize.

We had become robots as a standard,

Continual routines that have become so operational

A day to day routine life like a yardstick.

Wondering if a change would come over

During this time of anger.

Only you see, You have come into our life

Angels everyone of you.

Giving something so precious that most take for granted

Time.

Time from your day, your family, your work

Sounds so trivial to many

As any person of an ill Family member knows

Time is precious.

So when you give and share that gift it's a breathtaking gesture

That time gives hope.

Life with hope no matter the quality is a good life

The joy from the hope leads to a sense of wonder that,

Had once been replaced by despair now replaced by an innocence regained

For every moment you give the gift of time, the love pours.

How does one Thank all those involved

Who expect nothing in return?

Thank You.

That's so cool that James got a blanket from Project Linus! I made blankets for Project Linus for Disney's give a day promotion earlier this year, it's so cool to hear the stories of people receiving them. I would love to think that my blankets may have made someone's day! I made baby receiving blankets... here is a picture of the ones I made:

Awww goodness those are soo cute ! you are so talented :) and so sweet of you to do that ! I would like to add that to my list of things I am hoping to pay forward :)

So last babble for the evening, I was so annoyed earlier I could not even write about this event of the day. but since I now have cooled down and can think without seeing red I can mention. My DH gets home from work today and shows me this picture on his phone of a car smashed up... Turns out he was IN IT when the accident occured. Since I have had time to calm down and think level headed I would sooner say it's another show of how prayers do get answered. This accident and he walked from it just fine.

What had me seeing red is his employer did not have any of the men in the automobiles go see a Dr to make sure they were in fact ok. all hehad to say was "Oh GReat this is just great GET BACK TO WORK" *blink* All I can say is My hubby better be able too get out of bed comfortably in the morning or they will suffer the wrath of this wife. ( ok mean evil side is now calmed back down) *sigh*

:sad1: Where's my tissues. Beautiful..just beautiful. After Kylee's trip we gave everyone photos from our trip. This is wonderful.

OMG that is horrible! My car looked similar to that four years ago (drunk driver ran a red light) I was pretty banged up, called my boss and insisted I was coming to work, I just needed to find a ride, he insisted I got to the emergency room and forget about work that day. I am so glad your DH is OK. Front end accidents are the scariest because you see the whole thing coming.

Katelynn and James are working on a project already as a ty gift for everything thats been done. I can't wait to see what theyc ome up with :)

I was wondering about this picture on your page. OMG...I'm glad he's ok. I would be royally mad:mad: too.
Yeah!! Goodness me too, He did wake up sore but overall was in pretty good shape. I was half expecting to see bruises from seat belt really deep on him and so far just a wee bit of one, complains his arm hurts the worst where he put it up to brace himself.

Glad ya boss insisted you were seen, thats the way it should be :) and So glad your ok too, Such a scary thing that is. My hubby said same thing, scary as heck because he was not the one in control of car so wasn;t like he could even try to prevent it but only watch it and brace for it.

On a happier Note ! 5 days till we take off for Boston and 6 until wishflight ... we are officially under a week to go.. and i still have not started packing! LOL i;ve decided we will pack the night before, List is ready to go for each person, and I have gallon size baggies for everyone to put outfits in. Kids shirts are packed, just waiting on rest of thier clothes.

I was Thinking about the timing of this trip and more I think about it more I am sooo happy we have this time of year to go. IN past I always dreampt of going in February (someday we will) because it's so cold up here that time of year sounds so nice to escapoe winter for a spell. However, where we have had such a warm summer/fall we won;t get that shock treatment of going to warm climate back to cold etc, lol no having wo worry about packing winter jackets.

Mood in my house is odd though, Everyone is sooo excited but no one is really saying much about it. LOL I think where it's just a few days away and in some ways. ok alot of ways this all still seems so surreal we are afraid to jinx it.

And then ! I was looking on the wishflight website and it says 43 kids when thier facebook says 45.. and on website boston was not listed so it crossed my mind OMG something happened and they dropped us??? LOL thats my odd side of i don;t know what you call it... I almost wanted to e-mail James Wish coordinater and ask everything still a go??? LOL But I know it is, They mailed the welcome packet etc I guess I would feel better if I had actual plane tickets in hand and everything in hand already, My controller side showing on that one hehe ah well should be a fun few days prepping. My Mum in law is coming to the house when we head out on Thursday to pick up our non human kiddo Ben hehe LOL I kid you not even the puppy is excited to go on vacation to "grammy n grampas"

OK done babbling for now LOL
