It all started one blisteringly hot July day. Once again, I casually mentioned Disney World in the hopes that someone would take the bait this time. I about fell out of my chair when the boy responded with “yeah, we could do that.”

Wait.

What?

We had been talking about visiting his brother in Georgia. And me being the comic that I am, said we should take a small detour and go to Disney World for a couple days because Atlanta and Disney World are so close, right? Right? Right?

Instead, I heard “why don’t we just go to Disney World for a week instead.”

Hold up.

I’m not sure I heard you correctly. Please repeat.

“Let’s skip Georgia and go to Disney World for a week instead.”

Trumpets sounded. Angels sang. (Disney) fireworks exploded in the sky. It was like Heaven’s gates opened up and I walked into the largest Nordstrom shoe department that ever existed.

I have never heard those words in my life. And certainly not for a lack of trying. I’ve been trying to hear those words for years. YEARS. My parents never bought my sales pitches.

But on that disgustingly hot July day I did hear those words and I realized something. They boy is a keeper.

Oh, and I’M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD.

At this point, I’m sure you’re all wondering a) who I am, b) who “the boy” is, and c) everything else. Well, let me just explain!

Hello, I’m Erin. And I’m a Disney addict.

Hi Erin.

The boy is my wonderful boyfriend, Jordan. He’s not a Disney addict but I still like him.

And this is us.

Aren't we cute?

On that fateful July day we really did decide to go to Disney World instead of going to visit Jordan’s brother in Georgia. And maybe that makes us bad people. Oh well. (We are going in May to see them so it’s all okay).

And if you forgot, WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD! (In March, btw)

So here’s a little more information about us and our upcoming trip!

I’ll start with us!

Okay that's all the pictures of us...for now.

Like I said, I’m Erin and the boy is my boyfriend Jordan. We’ve been dating for a little over a year and a half and live in Central California. We both have Disneyland Annual Passes and my love for Disney (mostly Disneyland currently) is starting to rub off on him. For whatever reasons, he puts up with my antics and still loves me when my crazy shows.

I am a behavior therapist for autistic children and I absolutely love my job. Its challenging and rewarding and the kids I work with always seem to worm their way into my heart. Besides my love for all things Disney, I love books, tulips, the color pink, warm hugs, and chocolate. I’m a grammar nazi, queen over-packer, perfectionist and over-sharer. I am also an avid runner (possibly the most normal thing I’ve said about me yet!). I’ve run 9 half marathons and 2 full marathons. I’ve run the Tinker Bell Half Marathon at Disneyland every year since it began and it’s my favorite race. My last full marathon was nearly a year ago and when I finished, my running partner and I vowed to never run a full marathon again. I think the only one I would ever consider running (should I ever decide to run another) is the Walt Disney World Marathon.

Jordan is just a big teddy bear. He works for a major health insurance company which he loves as well. He’s an incredibly talented musician, mostly playing the guitar. He has a beautiful singing voice however rarely will sing for me, despite my begging and pleading and bribing (I make him nervous apparently). He’s a gaming nerd and generally a technology nerd. He loves internet humor and often sends me ridiculous pictures while I’m at work and shouldn’t be looking at them but I do and I start snorting with laughter and get strange looks from the people around me. He’s just a really good guy with a big heart.

THE TRIP

We will be going to the mothership (which is what I call Disney World at times) March 1-8. Which, if you notice, is in LESS THAN 10 DAYS. We are in single digits, people! This will be my very first trip. Being a California girl whose parents never really saw the importance of flying to the other side of the country to spend a week with a mouse, Disneyland is the only Disney park I’ve been to. So needless to say, this Disney nerd is beyond excited!

We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside in a garden view room and will have 6 day park hoppers. We have 11 ADR’s and 3 FP+ for each day. We will have Memory Maker purchased before our trip (hopefully this weekend I’ll preorder that).

We are flying out of LAX early on Saturday, March 1. Since we live two and a half hours north of LAX, we will be driving down Friday evening and staying in a nearby hotel. We were able to find a “park and fly” deal online where we can leave our car at the hotel for the entire trip for a discounted rate. Saturday morning at some ungodly hour, we will be taking the hotel shuttle to the airport. We (should) arrive in Orlando around 4:00 Saturday afternoon and are taking ME to our hotel. We have reservations at the California Grill at 7:50 that evening so I’m knocking on wood that our flight is on time and we get to the hotel in a reasonable amount of time. However, I’m thinking that nearly 4 hours to get from airport to hotel to CA Grill is adequate.

So I think that brings us up to speed on all the important things. But the most important is:

WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD IN 9 DAYS!
