Hey everyone after lurking for months I have decided to dive into disboards and create a planning journal! I have found everyone's advice so helpful and would love to share some of my ideas and plans with you all.

The story:

My fiance and I grew up together in NY where we were neighbors. We started dating in 10th grade and moved to Florida when we finished college. We loved visiting disney and knew we wanted a small wedding that was stress free: enter the escape package!! We knew the escape package was perfect for us. We are getting married on August 18th at Sea Breeze Point 10 am. After the ceremony we will be having lunch at The Wave in the Contemporary.

Thank you! I had the best time shopping for dresses at Alfred Angelo. I am going for my dress fitting today I am only 5 feet tall and ordered the short version of the dress and still need it shorter! Did you pick a dress from the Disney collection?

I did too! The girls were so nice. And ahhh that's so cute! I did get a Disney dress--- Cinderella! (There's a picture of me in it in my PJ.) I tried on the Snow White dress though, and it was absolutely lovely.

Do you have any advice for food..what was good and not so good? Has anyone ever made a custom menu or served soda during the dessert party?

So I am going back and forth about my hair wear it up or down? My dress is very ornate at the top and my wedding is outside in August so should I put it up? I feel like the half-up half-down designs are so pretty though!

Hey! You're getting married just a few days after me! So funny, we're doing an Escape wedding at 10am at SBP and we almost did lunch at The Wave as well but decided on Fulton's in the end.

I think with your dress you could get away with either wearing your hair up or down. I'm wearing mine down but I'm so worried about the heat and humidity making it a mess! I feel my hair looks better down though, so I'm going with that!

That's crazy! Thanks so much for reading! I looked at Fulton's and we weren't able to meet the minimum but the private space looked gorgeous! I am sooo worried about the heat and humidity everyone said we were crazing for having it outside! I hope 10am won't be to hot!

For any escape brides looking for a great reception area The Wave at the Contemporary has been fantastic to work with if you have any questions let me know!

We are having a lunch reception there in a private room starting at 12:30 for about 22 people. The manager has been great to work with and helped us to change some things on our menu to our liking. I love that it is a private room and the restaurant is very modern and pretty. The room itself is a little dark because there are no windows but we are having Disney florist decorate it with candles and flowers so I think it will come out really great. **Plus it doesn't trigger the minimum!

Hey everyone okay so it's getting close and I am super excited with a pinch of nervousness! Here are the vendors I have booked if anyone has used any of these vendors please add your thoughts or comments I would love your input.

Videography- Apex Media (haven't heard much about them and wasn't sure if we needed a videographer but he was so nice and such a great price I thought why not)

Photography- Randy Chapman

Hair and Make-up- Beaute Speciale (Ana wasn't available has anyone used any of the other people?)

Officiant- Reverend Knox

"Reception"- The Wave (The people are great to work with but haven't heard much about it and have never eaten there has anyone ate their before?)

I had Jackie come out for my engagement pics and loved her so much that when I had my wedding and they sent 5 people, I made sure that only Jackie did my hair and makeup! And I booked her for my MK Bridal Shoot at the end of August too!

I booked Reverend Knox assuming that it would be Kevin Knox. When I received an email from them it was from Theresa Knox who I believe is also a reverend. I am now confused as to which one we booked but would feel terribly rude if I asked. Has anyone else had this experience? If so did which Reverend did you receive on your wedding day?

Our weddings are almost here - it's cool we are getting married the same day. Did you plan your dessert party? The soda packages are expensive!! We are doing one where there are sodas but for floats - the celebration buffet. Love your invites by the way!
