DisneyWorld or Universal Studios! WOW!!!!

I've never been to Jordan's Furniture. Today we went for the first time & went to the Framingham MA store. I don't know if all their stores are this way...but oh man, from the minute I walked in I felt like I was at Disney.

You walk in & it feels like you are on a New Orleans street at night. All the shops & balconies & music.......the theme is carried out well ---even in the ladies room. LOL

DH even didn't mind looking around it was so amazing. We ended up in the Bose Home Theater area. We decided to sit in on the next "showing" they were having to demonstrate how sound effects what we watch. I felt like I was watching a show in Epcot -- in the Innoventions area. LOL Of course, it might have been all the DVDs we watched in the different rooms too -- Shrek, Finding Nemo, It's a Bug's Life, Dinosaur, Miracle..... LOL

When we were going up the escalator to the Bose area, they have overhead TV's like you see in the queve lines at Disney. DH said, "You must really feel like your at Disney now". He was so right.

So, if you need a quick fix....go check out the store. They even have an IMAX theatre. :teeth:

we love it at jordans. especially since we like to eat at Kellys Roast Beef. it really is a fun place. plus they have the movie thing that is like 3D. .......my sister lives in Natick so thats why we go to that Jordans...............also GREAT shopping , you could shop for like a WEEK and not hit every store..............

I saw the Kelly's sign on the way out...and wondered if it was THAT Kelly's. Good to know for future reference.

So....do all their stores look that way.

It must of cost them a FORTUNE to build! :earseek:

There used to be a place called Incredible Universe (I think) and they had all sorts of stuff. It always reminded me of Epcot. It didn't stay in business very long though.

Huh??? I never heard of this place. Is it national?

Microcell--they are not national per se. It is a 3 store chain here in New ENgland (they are building a 4th).

It was a small family owned Furniture Store Chain, until a year or two ago when the company was bought by Warren Buffett. They kept the principals in to 'run things' and these two brothers, Barry and Elliot are the head honchos.

They do a lot of good works. Several years ago, they chartered 3 or 4 planes, closed EVERY store and every office, and flew all of their associates to Bermuda for a day!

It's a really neat place to go and shop, and to get some great decorating ideas.

Gotta love Barry and Elliot!!! We have been known to just go there for the heck of it!! Love roaming around in there. But we've never done the Bose thing or Imax. Hmmmm...maybe this winter.

The Avon, MA store is fun (the only one I've been to) and it's only 15 minutes from my house. I love the motion movie. They use to have one of a car going up Mt. Washington. Wow, what a rush! :earseek:

It's really a fun place and you can get those ice cream mini balls there. I forget what they're really called but they're delicious!

We got all of our starter furniture from Jordan's in Framingham, and it's held up rather well. I like Jordan's alot. Such a fun place to shop.

Sad reality but sometimes going there is our date night, lol. The kids are not as fond of it as we are, they do love the beads though! It reminds me of Disney as well. Their commercials are great as well. Since they have sold out, they are not on as often. :(

LOL.... yeah I forgot to mention the Mardi Gras beads we were handed on the way in. :D

Oh....and I too thought it would be a neat place to go back to just to do all the stuff --- not even looking at furniture.

DH had a fun time reading signs & looking at details in the theme. There was a funny sign listing the hours when one of the fake" shops was open.

I saw several children there with parents...and all looked to be having a great time. LOL, I don't ever remember have fun while my parents shopped -- especially for furniture.

The movie theater upstairs even had refreshments, of course.

you know what's great about this thread? We're talking about a furniture store! :)

I trust jordan's more than deans, bob's, bernie and phyls, and other stores. Maybe it's the classy commercials, maybe it's the 2 brothers and their likability...I dunno.

We got our furniture from there...spent a good penny too. Well worth it knowing it came from Jordans.

hhhhmmmm....reading this thread I realized that I have never been to the Jordan's Furniture in Framingham. And I actually grew up in Framingham, just off route 30, less than a mile from there. Of course the Framingham store wasn't there when I moved to NH 20 years ago...but my ex and I bought our living room furniture at the orginal Waltham store right before we moved. I still visit the area frequently as my parents still live there....will have to check it out on one of my "take mom out for the day" trips :)

DH and I recently shopped for a new sofa and ended up buying at Jordan's in Nashua after checking out all the stores mentioned in KM2004's post. The best part was when they called to schedule the delivery and we weren't home.....the message on my machine was none other than the oh-so-familiar voice of Barry...saying that our furniture was in and the delivery details, and thanking us for choosing Jordan's. I got SUCH a kick out of that message...I played it for everyone whe came through my door for at least a week.... "Listen! Barry from Jordan's called me personally!" LOL...DH and DD were  Hey, I KNOW it was a recording but what can I say, I'm easily amused :teeth:

Gotta tell you that Nashua has a great free Dippin'Dots Bar also stocked with all the Pepsi, cocoa, coffee, goldfish and pretzels you would like. When you walk in they greet you with WARM choclate chip cookies. The thing is it is right in front of the store. They do not make you walk miles just to find it and my kidsl LOVED to come with us since it is right next to Costco. They would sample their hearts out and then go to Jordan's for dessert! At that point I did not care as long as I was able to shop with out the kids hassling me. I think they are very smart business men. They bring people in and you almost feel obligated to buy something.

I went to the I MAX in Framingham this summer to see Harry Potter. You will love this...they charged us AFTER we saw the movie. You have no idea how many people walked out without paying. It killed me but they did not seem to care.

I used to date a guy who was a Jim Henson trained puppeteer....he was part of the crew who designed the puppets/automatons for the Natick store. I always think of him when I drive by a Jordan's. They are definitely the coolest furniture stores I've ever encountered!

Don't worry, it's sometimes our date night, too ;) In fact, DH and I often went here when we were dating (we were poor college kids) and would make "wish lists" if we ever were married. Well, a couple of years later found us buying our very first piece of furniture there for our first home :)

I kinda like their new ads that parody the Citi "stolen identity" ads.

OK, I missed that part. Where are these in the store? It's such a HUGE store I know we didn't see nearly like a 1/5 of it. We need to go back anyway to place our order for a table now that we measured & decided the shape & size.

And....you pay for the movie AFTER?
