I believe it was only a year or so before Jodi was 'let go'. The show went on longer after than before. The show got worse as time went on, more and more episodes and more child exploitation.
So it is better in your mind never to speak up at all if you don't do it in whatever time frame you have deemed acceptable? It would have been better for the gosselin 8 to have the light shown on conditions earlier, but what is done is done. We can only go forward

, and prevent this from happening to other kids. This social experiment will be studied in college classes in the future. it does need to be stopped and no better time than the present.
I see it as this....
You--kidshop, have a relative whom you feel is doing something that harms the children so much and so bad--that it is a reportable offense and worthy of investigation.
Instead of reporting it, you blog about it to warn the public. The harm continues--b/c you failed to do anything that could stop it, but rather just gossiped about it.
You are now complicit b/c you allowed it to continue, when you as a first hand witness could have done something about it.
Jodi and Kevin were part of their lives for THREE years. I believe they went off in season 4--but don't quote me on that. Whatever season gumgate was in--which is when the sextuplets were 3 (based on a google double check).
The show ended within months of the Sextuplets turning 5. (filming of the children ordered to cease on Oct 1--about 5 months later)
So I'm not sure where you are getting your numbers....
In any case--no it isn't better to "never" to speak up.
I found it irresponsible for Jodi and Kevin to handle it the way they did, in the manner in which they did which makes me question the sincerity of what they are doing.
With 8 kids on the line--it's easy to be swayed by teh belief that they are doing this "for the children" as so many believed Kate to be doing.
But just b/c Jodi and Kevin are seeking to improve laws--doesn't mean they are doing squat for the kids. Their on a fame train and what better way to do that, than to stroke your ego in the name of children. Just b/c something "good" and "beneficial" will come out of it--doesn't make their quest noble.
They failed for their nieces and nephews. Nothing they do now will ever change that.
Believing their intent is genuine is no different than believing what Jon and Kate is saying as always 100% true.
Who allows for harm, but then only says something after they are out of the picture via a vindictive and malicious person (Jodi's sis')?
It's not like Jon and Kate were a cult and brainwashed Kevin and Jodi. They were two grown adults capable of making their own decisions.
