Joining Cruise in Progress

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with joining a cruise that was in progress. For our upcoming cruise, DH cannot leave with us and has to join us at a port. We've already told DCL and supposedly it is all documneted and okay, but I am nervous since none of the cruise documents make note of it. I was hoping maybe someone else had done this and might have some reassuring words.

I think Key West is the only port where you cannot start or end a cruise (and that's only on the Western Caribbean itinerary). I don't think it's an issue elsewhere.

I would contact DCL and request them to FAX you a confirmation of the plans including any special documentation, if any, that he will require and any restrictions about which ports he can join you from. I'm kinda like you. I like it in writing.

Not sure if this will help. We were on the July 23 cruise and the table besides us had a husband and wife come on about the 3rd or 4th day in. Apparantly there were some problems with their paperwork and so they let their kids come on (they had family that they were traveling with) without them. Our waiter knew about them joining them so that's how I found out. Also, according to our waiter, it happens alot more than you would think. So hope this helps. Apparently that family was more worried about getting to the airport on time to pick them up than about them not being let on board. BTW - they all made it back in time for dinner.

Thank you, that is a good idea!

Thanks, it is good to hear that it does happen. That gives me more reassurance that everything will be okay.
