I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with this?

I recently got sent an interest form from the Club and returned it. I had sent an interest form back around 2012 as well (and another letter to check my status a year or so ago).

I'm not sure how the whole process works however. I thought it was a wait-list situation but a little reading tells me that this has changed and it's more who you know and not so much how long you wait.

All the information I've located seems to be pretty much all guess work more than anything. I'm trying to figure out how it really does work. Is it a wait-list or not? Should I re-apply every so often (and how often since I don't want to badger my way out of a membership)? Is it actually who you know more as opposed to wait-listing and patience?

I really just need to find someone who can help me sort this out without messing it all up.

Thanks for any help anyone can send my way.

It is no longer a "wait list". It is now an "interest list." It appears if you have a member recommendation, you can get moved up the list.

So how does an "interest list" work exactly? Should I show "interest" by returning that letter every few months for example? Or will that "interest" me right off the list?

It's surprising you were not offered membership in 2012. It seems everyone on the on the waiting list prior to 2012 and also those that expressed "interest" were able to join...

Only Club 33 management knows. Due to "issues" with some new members, the screening process has become more extensive.

You might want to send a formal letter expressing your desire to join.

Oh no. Really?

I sent the info in back in May 2012 and then I waited (since, as I pointed out, I thought it was a simple wait list). Then when our city changed and I sent another letter with that updated info. At that point I asked if I was on the list from 2012 or not but I just got dead air. So I tried asking in the park on my last visit but got nowhere there (I figured as much but I had to try). I finally asked on another site and got emailed another interest form from the club but still nothing as to how the process works or how much pestering gets me excluded (or included as the case may be).

Hmm. I'm not too good at writing things like that. It might be worth a shot though. I'm not entirely sure what I'd say. Heck, I've been on this site for nearly 13 years but hardly have any posts since everyone else tends to have it all covered.

I would just write the letter, and include what would make you an asset as a member and what you like about the club. Be aware, things move fast when they make an offer. Usually, it is like 30 days to sign, then they move on. So, be prepared to write the check quickly (roughly $60K initiation and $15K annual fee, first year prorated.)
