Hi all,
I had to post this, this gave me a good laugh last week. The New york city fire dept ,has been taking a Lot of heat(no,pun) over there idea to lower it's standards in an attempt to get more people to take the FDNY test and go into the FDNY academy. When i took the FDNY test you needed 60 college credits at the time of hiring to get in. Well the FDNY has had some issues with getting new recurits that left the dept short changed. Me and guys did not worry ,how ever this gave us the chance to do a ton of overtime to fill in the gaps. Well the dept saw that the adverage member of the dept had well over 25% overtime with the actually number being in the low 30's%. So they went ahead and lowered the standards for employment. Me and my guys did not worry about this eithier ,but the FDNY is being ripped a part by the media for this.Anyway someone upset over this issue put a ad in the local paper and all over the internet. Sitting at the firehouse last week and reading the paper i spotted this and well of course we hang it up on the builletin board, this gave the guys a nice laugh.
