I have a question for the moderates, those who have not completely picked a candidate yet. I know how those who have picked Senator Kerry or President Bush will react, but does the fact that Senator Kerry, when asked about his plan always refers people to his website bother you? To me, my first thought is he doesn't even know it well enough to give us high points, but my thoughts would be biased. So, for the voting - only those who are not on one side or the other please.

The candidates work the media and try to use sound bites whenever possible. The question requires an answer that is longer than a couple of sentences. Personally, I don't have a problem with it but for those who are not internet savy it is definitely a problem. He doesn't seem to realize that not everyone is blessed with instant access to the internet.

But any entry level PR person would tell you you should be able to explain your product (in this case, himself) or what you are selling in 3 points. You should at least have an "elevator pitch". Something that you can tell a person in the time it takes to ride an elevator. If it requires an explanation that can't fit in a 30 second sound bite for the media, then it is too complicated and likely won't resonate. (I'll await the predictable "what about Bush" retort)
