Jogging at VB?

Are there any paths that can be jogged on or is the sand there packed enough to run on it? Thanks!

It's been a while since I've stayed at VB, but I recall the beach to be too sandy to run on. Har enough to just walk as you sink into the sand.

I believe there are some paths that could be used for jogging across the street near the lake (you can take the tunnel that goes under the road) . Also, I THINK there is a sidewalk along A1A on at least one side that you might be able to use.

The sidewalk along A1A is flat and goes for miles. It's excellent for running or walking. Also, the health club has two or three treadmills.

I heard someone talk about the Jungle Trail once but not sure where it is. The side walk along A!A would be my choice. I brought my gear with in in Feb but was too busy with DD to go.

Thanks. Refresh my mind (I've only been to VB once.), is A1A the road the resort is off of?

A1A is the actually the road the resort is located on. There are 'sidewalks' that run along the length of the road, for miles. They are offset from the roadway itself by a good distance. I'm thinking 10 feet or more.

The sidewalks do not run on both sides of the road. From the resort, just walk out the front. You'll need to cross the street. Either watch for traffic closely before crossing, OR take the tunnel under the street, then double back to the sidewalk.

As to the jungle trail, if that's the trail on the VB property across the street, it's no good for jogging, only hiking. There's a park not too far away that also has some trails going back into the woods/brush, but again those would only be good for hiking, not jogging. (They're really paths, not trails).

As mentioned, the beach sand is way too soft for jogging. If you got right to the water's edge at lower tides, it's more firm, but would still be more of a workout than running on pavement or dirt)

The "Jungle trail" is the same trail they send people who rent bikes...

The trail goes along the A1A, then Somerset Bay Lane west to "Jungle Trail Road"... Follow "Jungle Trail" north until 510... (Jungle Trail is a dirt road..)

I can't remember if the stretch along the 510 has a sidewalk.. I think it does...

I've biked it a few times and its not bad... Stop by Eb & Flo's when you get there and they will give you a map or look here..
