Joe's Crab Shack

We recently heard that Joe's Crab Shack is a great place to eat. There isn't one in our area, but I noticed that there's one in Orlando...anyone eat here? Is it family friendly? In a good location? We'll be there in Jan and thought it might be a good spot for our 1st night's dinner...

Joe's Crab Shack is great and definitely family friendly.There's 4 in the Orlando area and 2 that I know of in the Disney area,there's one by the entrance of Celebration on 192 and there's one on S Apopka Vineland Rd just north of the Disney entrance on Hotel Plaza Blvd that takes you by Downtown Disney.Last time I ate at Joe's a teen girl was having a birthday there and she had about 20 others in her group,at one point in the meal about 5 servers started this song and dance act with music and several of the girls joined in while everyone cheered.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Joe's Crabshack!! We will hopefully eat here during one night of our stay Anyways, I have eaten at the one near Atlanta, in San Francisco and New Orleans, they are super yummy!! They are family friendly, but can be a bit loud, some kids are sensitive to loud noises, especially when its late and they're sleepy; mine's not though, so no worries Sometimes they have live music, which can make it louder, but I've never seen a drunken brawl or anything. It's definitely a family type place....

I love Joe's Crabshack, I will be trying the one near Disney, I've been to the one in Anaheim and they have a playground for the kids. Also Rainforest Cafe is a sister Restaurant and totally kid friendly.

We have eaten at the one by Celebration - great fun, can be noisy!

We just at at the one near WDW-- it was great. The best part is the big outdoor area with tables and a big playground area for the kids. They also had a balloon guy walking around making animals for the kids. The wait staff all did a little dance at one point (I forget the song) that my kids thought was very funny.

We found a coupon for a free appetizer in one of the Orlando coupon books that you can pick up anywhere.

Very family friendly. Yes it can be loud, but a fun atmosphere. I love their crab cake sandwich or when really hungry coconut shrimp. Glad to have one 10 minutes from home !

They were sold by Landry's last year and no longer sister to Rainforest etc.....so you can no longer use the Safari Card for discounts. Menu changed, but I believe only to play up seafood.

Thanks, all! It's always nice to find out that some things really might be as good as they seem! My kids totally LOVE shrimp! All this and a WDW vacation to boot...can't wait!

We LOVE LOVE Joe's! We go there each time we go to Orlando. Get the BBQ dungeness crab legs. They are WONDERFUL!
