Another thing about the parents. I've also heard (primarily on Dr Drew) that they should have gotten Jodi help with her issues. A) At what point? I think it can be hard to determine when a child needs "help". And once Jodi became an adult, they couldn't force her to do anything. I don't think Jodi could be TOLD what to do. B) It bothers me, as it's portrayed on Dr Drew, that getting "help" leads to something of a cure...that she would have been "fixed" and all would've been right with the world. My sister, I suspect, has Borderline Personality Disorder. She spent YEARS in therapy with a quack, who supposedly ranked as one of the best in NY, but who later lost his license to practice (and for good reason). My sister would tell me things that he said that were so inappropriate (like, if HE cried about his own problems during a session, then she wouldn't have to pay...WTH??). AND, it wouldn't matter WHO she saw for therapy, she was a liar and a manipulator. If ever there was someone they'd want to manipulate, it would be the psychiatrist/psychologist. Does anyone (Dr Drew!!!) really think that Jodi Arias would have gone into therapy at any point, even before she killed Travis, and told the truth...how SHE was making terrible choices in her life, and NOT that she was everybody's victim? No way.
