I wonder if any of the Life holdouts thought Life would be more of a punishment, some say Death is the easy way out.

Maybe and in a lot of ways it probably is, when faced with what her life will be like behind bars.

I am over whelmed with the fact that this man fell for Jodi, hook, line, and sinker. I think he was viewing the internet. He did not follow the judges instructions. Makes him just as bad for not being truthful. Death threats are not acceptable no matter what. He was not faithful to the rest of the group. He went off on his own with the interview. He should of expected this to happen.

Come on. IF he voted for Life, and that's a big if because he did not say one way or the other, there were 4 in total who voted for Life.

You guys who are screaming about the jury are just assuming the 4 who voted for Life did not follow the Judge's instruction because you have your own bias.

We have no idea what mitigation factors the 4 who voted for Life choose as their reason for their choice. And the 4 who voted for Life do not have to be faithful to the rest of the group. That's not how are system works. They poll juries because it is possible a majority of a group can bully the few who disagree.

I'm interested in hearing what mitigating factors the ones who didn't want to give her the DP believed ...

The link is on this thread a few pages back. It was actually a pretty good interview. It was a man and two women. All voted for the DP. The man in particular sounded like he thought the evidence was completely overwhelming in favor of it, but the women were also in agreement.

I think it's shameful that people are harassing any jury member regardless of how they voted. They have a tremendous responsibility. I do think the foreman was either dishonest with himself regarding how he felt about the DP or he felt sorry for JA. Nonetheless, he shouldn't have to deal with threats, and I hope they follow up on anyone who is proven to have done so.

Actually, I believe JW said they could use any factor from the trial they wanted, it didn't have to be the ones the DT brought forward.

They are saying she is in her cell 23 hours a day with limited visitation and phone privileges. The same as she will be in prison when the final sentence is reached.

She is in confinement. And they are saying once a new jury is selected court could run about 6 more weeks.

She's still guilty of premeditated first degree murder. The jury hung on the penalty phase of the trial so a new jury has to be selected for the penalty phase only. The penalty phase determines if she gets death or life.

Court is scheduled for July 18th.

Don't worry about it I know you did not mean anything by it, I would of been confused too if it was the other way around and i read it wrong.

Juror 6 also answered some questions on twitter.

Q- What was the split in life and death?
A- There was no gender trend.

Q- What did they think about the gas cans?
A- The gas cans were key.

Q-Did she notice how much JA was not paying attention...doodling, writing,etc?
A-They noticed it and it seemed disingenuous.

Q-How does she think JM did?
A-She was impressed.

Q-How did she vote in penalty phase and why
A-Death, felt aggravators outweighed mitigators.

Thank you guys for posting this, I am so happy these jurors are coming out and making sure that people know they are not all like that Jodi sympathising/Kool-Aid drinking Foreman.

All these people seemed very reasonable, they seemed to see JA how we saw her and unlike the foreman they did not let sympathy clude their judgement. It's too bad the jury did not have a few more people on it like these ones.

Totally agree, the way he went off and talked for the group like it was his job and therefor made them all look like the Kool-Aid drinking sympathiser he is was a slap in the other jurors face. Happy the GMA interview and the alternate juror talking have shown that to be far from the truth.

Which interview was that? One of the recent ones? That is a disgusting statement to make and the jury foreman should be glad she didn't get her hooks into his son that wrote the facebook letter..

I wonder if this fool foreman would of been willing to vote for Death if it was HIS son that Jodi seduced and then slaughtered?

Would he have thought she did not look like a murderer then? Would he have had sympathy for this monster then?

Or would she have to of committed more murders so she would of been like "Manson and Dhamer" first? I doubt it highly.

I honestly think the State will proceed with a new penalty phase trial, (I was just thinking that maybe they shouldn't) ... However, I think a new trial will last longer than two weeks ... There is a lot of evidence that has to be presented to a new jury and get them up to speed with ... And then we can't forget how the DT likes to talk and talk and talk, and file motions, and ask for sidebars, and take a few days off for migraines ... And that is only IF the DT stays in tact ... What if they ask to be removed from the case again and it's granted? ... That's a whole new can of beans ... Then new lawyers will have to be found and they will have to review and learn everything about the case, etc ... Oy, this could possibly take a lot longer than anyone may expect ... Guess time will tell ...

I don't care how long it takes anymore, it has taken this long already.

I am all in and I suspect the family feel the same way, they are in it for the long haul no matter how long it takes and I commend them for that!

I couldn't find even one of their mitigating factors that would have swayed me from voting the DP, if I felt it was due.

Jodi suffered abuse & neglect as a child - Not proven to me
Jodi tried to make the best of her life
Jodi tried to improve herself
Jodi is a talented artist

I look at that list and my thought process is more like "I don't think any of those things are even close to being actual LEGAL mitigating factors at all". The ones you said "not proven" on I totally agree, they could MAYBE in rare case be mitigating factors, but in this case they were just more lies by Jodi, in fact it was Travis whom had a much harder childhood.

Also, about her being 27 at the time of the crime and that SOMEHOW is supposed to be a mitigating factor is SO STUPID!

I am 27 years old myself and I GUARANTEE you that if I committed a crime and was arrested I would not for one second think at this age "oh maybe they will go easy on my because of my age".

I know right from wrong at age 27, and so does everybody else! The fact that this was even brought up by the DT was an insult to our legal system, and quite honestly being that age right now I sort of took it personally.

Might as well have been since none of the DT's SO CALLED mitigating factors rose above the level of ridiculousness of your sarcastic joke one!

It is almost scary, but that is the truth.

I personally know a couple of individuals that have the same traits:
Love to hear themselves talk
Think they are way more intelligent than most so all others should follow their leadership skills
Just keep talking and talking and not understanding their words will just dig themselves into a deeper hole rather than just keeping their mouth shut for their own benefit ( they must have their 15 minutes of fame)
Like to impress others with their vocabulary
Displays bully traits in a way to get others to agree with their way of thinking
We have all seen a few make public statements that will embarrass them in the future (Dr Samuals, LaViolette). Now the foreman placed himself under the same bus as he displays his calm methodical way of thinking for all the world to view

no, I am not thinking of JA doing these things, I am thinking the jury foreman. I think they both think a lot along the same lines. Foreman mentally bonded with JA. He probably has many of the same insecurities and his often finds others rolling their eyes at his actions so he just has to prove them wrong by use of statements
I would guess all juror members made somewhat of a pact before ending their jury duty. Lets all be quiet and not share whom voted how. But foreman went rogue really upsetting the other remaining jurors
I bet shortly we will all hear many intimate views and opinions expressed in the jury room and who voted which way
I'm guessing the foreman used some form social engineering to get himself voted to position of foreman. Had they selected a different foreman we may have a different jury verdict. I can just see JA if selected to a jury pool in a DP case using some of the same tactics to get herself voted all powerful foreman position to later step out and speak for the jury
What are the foreman's country club members saying to each other today as they all roll their eyes behind his back? " why didn't he just keep his mouth shut and not embarrass himself

Stop vilifying this jury foreman. No one still knows how he voted, because he did not say how he voted in the interview. He may have voted for death and was just speaking for the entire jury.

Besides, if the jury came back with second degree murder, then you would have something to complain about. But they didn't.
