Jodi Arias Trial Part 4, starting with redirect of "expert" Dr Samuels, March 19

I wonder how many more times she will use that before the trial is over. :rolleyes2

I bet a few more times for sure ::yes:: ... Or at least everytime she starts feeling things may not being going in her favor ... I wonder if Violet's testimony really got JA nervous because she realized that it was actually describing herself, thus triggering her sudden/convenient "migraine" :scratchin ...

I'm also suspicious that maybe she's planning to use her "migraines" as an alternative story/excuse if, goodness forbid, this jury is hung and she has to be retried :scared: ... or maybe even on her appeal if she's found guilty ... Then her 4th story will be the "migraines" made her kill TA because they affected her brain and it was beyond her control  ...

ETA ... I had another thought ... Is JA planning to try and use her "migraines" to get a mistrial? ... She could say, as a result of her not receiving her meals and/or pills while in court, she developed migraines which caused her not to be able to help in her own defense adequately or properly? ...

I know, I know, my imagination is running wild now ;) ... But I can't help it because I wouldn't put anything past this woman :sad2: ...

Oh I totally agree, if she get's away with it once who is to say she won't try it again? In fact I think she almost certainly will since she is lying about everything else.

Now Beth Karas and that Mike guy are saying that Jodi gets breakfast at 7 AM, dinner at 6, which makes a helluva lot more sense. So I rewound, and yup, there's Jinga stating what time Jodi gets breakfast, and at the bottom of the screen it says "JODI'S BREAKFAST TIME: BETWEEN 2 & 3 AM!".

I wish they'd get their facts straight.

I read that on the Maricopa County site awhile back but can't remember now where it was.

And we have a winner! Good job! :thumbsup2

From Beth Karas:
The Sheriff's Dept. confirmed that Arias's lunch is actually half of her breakfast. She isn't getting any more food than other inmates; the same food is divided 3 ways for her instead of 2. It amounts to 2,600 calories/day.

I saw a video online where NG was interviewing Sheriff Joe Arpaio. He said that they get brunch (breakfast and lunch at the same time). He also said that she had gotten her GED while in jail and that she hadn't been a discipline problem. NG told him he'd better be careful which guards he had watching her because she had a Mormon husband ready to leave his wife and kids after two or three hours with her at a convention. ;)

ETA: Just looked at that a little more and found this - http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1301/22/ng.01.html

This is part of it. Interesting:
GRACE: ...And what I`m extremely interested in is whatever, let me just say, magic that she seems to work over men that within just knowing her for two hours, sitting in a car, for Pete`s sake, unless they were sitting in the backseat, he wants to leave his wife and children.

You know, after, you know, you`re married, you have arguments, you disagree, blah, blah, blah, none of it amounts to a hill of beans. But I can see you getting fed up with your spouse just over daily living. Don`t even have to really do anything wrong but ready to leave and walk out on your children to be with Arias? What was he thinking?

SIMKO: You know, and that`s the thing. I can speak from experience of being in her presence. When I was around her and, I mean, I was smitten. I mean I liked her personally. I was like, OK, she`s really hot, she`s nice, and we just really connected conversationally. And one of the things that this gentleman said was --

GRACE: In other words she asked you a lot of questions about you.

SIMKO: About -- sort of, I guess. I don`t know. We just -- we just hit it off, I don`t know. But what I wanted to say about this guy was that, you know, one of the things you referenced is that, you know, she laughs at my jokes, she gets me, this is what I`m missing. And what our friend Chris had said to him when he took him aside was, like, listen, dude, this is a marriage, you know. Tell me if you get with Jodi a few years down the road that you`re not going to be feeling the same exact way as you feel with your wife right now?

You know, regarding the supposed migraine, NG made the comment that JA has no published history of migraines so it's unlikely that she suddenly just started having them. That's not to say that she doesn't have a severe headache, of course. While I don't feel sorry for her and wouldn't trust anything she says, I can see where the pressure of this trial could be getting to her.

I believe she was convinced that she could manipulate the legal system the same way she seems to have manipulated everybody else she came into contact with - totally convinced to the point of singing, doing handstands, and then doing broadcast interviews.

It's very possible that it's starting to register with her that not only may she be wrong about not being convicted but that she could actually get the death penalty. I don't care who you are, that's pretty sobering, and I can see how it could make you physically ill.

That said, I think she's gotten a lot of accomodations due to her gender (I would have said sex, but that takes on a whole different connotation with Jodi!) that she wouldn't have gotten if she were a man. That's not right. :sad2:

What I don't understand is why the judge is allowing so many delays. Every day, there's a delay, even if it's something as small as coming back a few minutes late from break here or a few minutes late from lunch there. Add up all that time and we probably could have shaved a good 2 weeks off this trial time.

I know the judge has to do everything to make it appear fair for Jodi, such as all the objections she's overruled to make sure what's necessary comes in. However, didn't I read that this is this judge's first DP case?

It seems the prisoners have more rights than the victims. They have just about everything they need paid for. They have committed a crime and then all of a sudden they have so many rights and protected.

Yes, this is the judge's first DP case and that's why I think she is being overly cautious not to make any mistakes that could be appealable or cause a mistrial ... On the other hand, this could be her normal way that she runs her court too ... But I really wish she could at least start on time everyday because she doesn't seem to have any trouble calling for lunch, break or recess on time ... :)

Good morning peoples!

Should we start taking bets now?

Will they have court today? (I'll go with "yes", but have my doubts.)
Will they start on time? (no)
Will the DT match their clothes? (yes)
What color? (someting Springy...yellow?)
What kind of socks will Nummi wear? (I'm thinking an Easter egg motif.)
REALLY???
Who eats 2600 cal a day and can maintain (not GAIN) weight?????
And Jinga and Beth have said that she's LOST weight, so maybe...and this could come as a shock...they got the calories wrong? lol :confused3
I did, my wife insisted I take one. :lmao:

And here's the lowdown I got on the protective order:

The Defense alleges any release of their expenses would be indicative of who they interviewed (and paid) in their preparation of Jodi's defense and thus show their hand and what direction they're going.

That makes sense to me. :dance3:
That does make sense. I wonder if they want to know the 6 DV experts who refused to testify on Jodi's behalf.

I don't know much about migraines, but when she's allegedly had one, there's not the slightest appearance on her face of being in pain.

Judge Perry (CA trial) (here I go again...Perry love!) really spoiled those of us who watched that trial. If court was supposed to start at 9:00, things were rolling at 8:59. Like this trial doesn't already have built in frustrations.

Good morning, everyone! :goodvibes

The best I'm hoping for today is Willmott will finish with this witness.

Counsel for the ABC News and CNN-HLN Network/Turner stated the public record
requests for records from OPDS do not seek any detailed billings. Rather, these public records
requests to OPDS seek only total hours billed, total dollars paid, and the rates paid. As a result,
the current public records requests can be satisfied under the Court’s minute entry in this case
dated September 25, 2012.
For the foregoing reasons,
IT IS ORDERED denying defendant’s Motion for Protective Order.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED OPDS shall respond to the public records requests for total
hours billed, total dollars paid, and the range of rates paid, without providing detailed billing
information

:thumbsup2 :cool1:Do we know this for sure? Because when she gets off the stand, and the rebuttal case is supposed to start, if there's another DT witnesses, I'm going to scream.

If you mention rebuttal I read somewhere , I think they are returning that good ole doc.....:scared1: I don't know if they are bringing anyone new.

Samuels?? Why would either side bring him back?? It's too late for the DT to make him look good, and the prosecutor already annihilated him.
