Jodi Arias Trial Part 4, starting with redirect of "expert" Dr Samuels, March 19

Hello everyone! I have been MIA...work has taken up most of my time these last few weeks, along with some great family time over Easter.

I have been keeping up the best I can watching the trial later in the evening.

Some thoughts..just wondering what others are thinking? ALV...wow. I would be the first person to admit that Travis was not perfect, but it seems that she is spinning JA's part of the relationship. There are so many excuses for why Jodi behaves the way she does and none of them are obsessive. FWIW, I have always felt that Jodi was obsessive about this relationship that puts a whole new spin on the dynamics. I wonder if the States rebuttal witness, I can't remember the Dr's. name but her laptop was stolen, will be able to put the pieces together to show Jodi's behavior in a different light. Or even Travis. There are many email's, texts we haven't seen that the dr's have so, I wonder what she will bring to the table.

Anybody have any ideas?

She was shaking her head at Jodes? No one saw this?
I really want to hear from her about what she thought. But not now if it can hurt the trial in any way.

Nancy Grace was on GMA with Dan Abrams, they usually don't see eye to eye. Its pretty funny.

But this morning they both agrees that Violet is not going to help Jodes.
Dan said wait till JM gets her. Yes Dan, we can't wait either.

Didn't we say a while back that it looked like Nurmi and/or Willie were shaking their heads when there was a witness on the stand? Maybe Samuels?

I watched some of Dr Drew this morning. They were saying how Violet comes off as a man hater, and how she speaks as if everything Jodi has told her is the absolute truth. One commentator said that if Travis greeted Jodi every morning with roses and butterfly kisses, Violet would still call it abuse.

I'm pretty sure Violet (ALV) IS the person whose laptop was stolen, but I'm not sure. It's my understanding that there are a lot of emails/texts that haven't been allowed in. The one Violet was referring to yesterday was one of them, but she was allowed to give her impressions of them. Which I thought was a little odd.

Watched the short clips of the police interrogations of Jodi's parents. Wow. Jodi was one screwed up girl.

I don't believe the media hoopla about Juror 5 signaling to Jodi. Here is Nurmi's filing trying to get a mistrial or to have Juror 5 excused. He states she is communicating with the other jurors.

ETA: I was just over on WS and read that Juror 5 and Perky Katie had a brief run in in the cafeteria. Juror 5 asked Katie if she was in line and Katie said No. Nurmi was in the cafeteria too. Then the next day, he was whining that Perky Katie was an employee of HLN, which she is not. Fast forward a few days and the above filing was issued. This is all speculation but doesn't seem like a coincidence.

Yes, Juror #5 communicating with other jurors IS the reason that she was dismissed. But there is that phone call made to the judge back in February where the caller stated Juror #5 was observed signalling to Jodi. It appears, since nothing was done about it, that they determined there was no basis in it, and that it has nothing to do with her dismissal. It's just that with the hoopla about her dismissal, it came to light publicly now.

Good morning! I had to call to get an appt today, and it's at 2 PM (11 AM Jodi time) at a place almost an hour away, so that's going to tie up about 3 hours. I'm going to have to record and watch HLN later. Thank God for FF. But what makes me nuts is that I'll get home in time to catch live testimony, but will have missed a bunch, so what do I watch...live or just start with the recording? Decisions decisions!

Hey, welcome back. Morning everyone.

I'm sure even during the cross of Laviolette (although she does just testify kinda free flow) more details of the emails, texts, will come out, but I think it'll just add to the fact those two had an abusive relationship that worked back and forth. I can see why the State sought to keep the emails and texts out of court and why the Defense wanted them in. Dr. Demarte's testimony should be interesting since she's the State's expert witness (bet she's getting paid $300. an hour too), I'm kinda anxious to hear her.

I'm curious as to why the Alexander family was upset since the Defense was denied their motion for mistrial, doesn't make sense. I just wonder if they saw the State as somewhat temporarily defeated as I would hope the State agreed that juror should be dismissed, that's not Martinez' fault, he has a duty to the court first.

We'll have to keep up with the documents after the trial, when they're unsealed, that's gonna make for some interesting reading.

I remember a while back when Jodi was on the stand, Jodi did something on the stand that was like a wow moment. And one of the jurors, I believe they directed it at juror 5 shook her head as in disbelief.

I cancelled an appointment today so I could watch today. That's not the whole reason, but it sounds good right?!

I think I overdid it yesterday and am feeling the effects today. So the idea of a haircut and leaning my head over a sink just did not sound good. I'll do it Saturday instead.

Did I hear correctly that there is no court on Thursday?

I watched Dr. Drew last night. Wow, JA's mom was really shaken up AS YOU WOULD EXPECT A PARENT TO BE but then watching her in court all these weeks, she has absolutely no emotion what so ever. I think she even said in the tape that she was "going to throw up" when Det. Flores said that "this is looking more and more like JA did this". I mean NOW 'Sandy' seems to be smug about the whole thing, chuckling at inappropriate times during the trial.

I guess dealing with this for 5 years will do all that to someone, make them COLD.

Yup, that's what I heard too. No court tomorrow, which means that JM will get about 5 minutes of cross before it's time to end everything. That's if he even gets up there!

I'm so tired of hearing the Jodi testimony version 2 by Laviolette, let's move on and hear what say the State? Although I'll admit it's been a little hard to even take the State serious now with that new hair dye, please someone tell me he's dyed his hair before, please!!!

Before I even knew last night she was interviewed , I just sensed something is not right. The day Jodi was arrested she was asking about the gun that Jodi hid in the car. If there relationship is bad, why would Jodi call her mom to help her move back? I think mom knows allot more. My first thought was oh no, not another Cindy Anthony.

She has known about Jodi's issues all of her life. And then being in with Flores and like putting on some sort of strange belief of Jodi. If she has the issues of Kicking and yelling at her mom, she should have known her daughter could be capable of doing something horrible later in life. Her behavior in the courtroom is so bad against the Alexander family. No respect for Travis or his family. She took his life. And if they are selling her stuff on ebay they are making money off her and selling stuff to people like it is ok what her daughter did was right.
