Jodi Arias Trial Part 3, STILL in redirect of Jodi, Mar 5

I thought they were not bringing in jury till 1:00 their time. Have they been on today; just turned on abc streaming. Are they on break?

Are they on lunch break? I just stepped away for a few minutes and I see the state seal now.

They have been going over the jury questions, and then the judge asked to see defense counsel in chambers, so they cut the video. We don't know why.

Is that even LEGAL that just DT and Judge are in Chambers w/o JM?

That's a really good question. :thumbsup2

And just to be sure, happy birthday today, I thought I posted it, but I may have hit preview instead and thought it posted, it's the fog effect, scrambled mind. ;)

So I gotta ask a question that occurred to me about the gun. This attny/client privilege reminded me of it.

If her attnys did have the gun, she showed them where it was, but didn't turn it in as evidence. I mean are they required to if they really did find it?

Kelly

So who was the werewolf sitting in the gallery on the Arias side? One scary looking dude.

:lmao:

I think the public gets to sit on that side, the defense side are victim's group members, friends of the family, reporters.

Yes cause the defense counsel are officers of the court first.

WTH? I did not know they were airing all the questions. Is that all I missed? Are they still resuming at 12?

No questions, just the questions numbers with objections to the one's the attorneys didn't want entered.

They went over the questions by number only, they didn't actually read them. I assume we'll still be back at 12, but who knows? The judge wanted to meet with DT in chambers with no further explanation, so we'll have to wait and see.

Good morning everyone.

Before I get started catching up, I want to wish one of our fellow Dis'ers a Happy Birthday today.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAR!
Or as some of you may know her, momrek06.

Happy Birthday!!! :dance3:
62 - potential attorney-client priviledge. hmmm....
IIRC, they were saying on HLN that that one had to do with her financial situation at the time she had breast implants. During the trial, they said that it cost $300. And not that I know anything about the cost of breast implants *cough* *cough* but I know that amount was way off, unless she got them at the local job lot and put them in herself.
Why don't they (Nurmi and JM) have a copy of the questions? Isn't that why they have to keep approaching?
Earlier this morning is the first time they're being reviewed, and each side noted the ones they had objections to. Not sure they have actual copies of the questions, but probably made notations on why they objected. When they both objected, question was thrown out. When one side objected, they went to sidebar, where they can discuss the specifics of objections, so the judge can determine whether to let a question in or not. Someone on HLN said she didn't understand why the judge just didn't do this whole thing in chambers, since we're not actually seeing anything. :confused3

My question would be: How long was the trip (how far did she drive) from the time the pesky skater boys incident ON THE WAY to see Travis to the time after the murder when she was pulled over by the police for having an upside down plate. I just don't think it's possible to go that far with an upside down plate and not being pulled over sooner. On InSession, they had said the defense is probably thinking she took them off in Travis' driveway so no one would catch the number, and in her haste, put one upside down and left the other one off. I think, and I heard this speculation a while back on InSession, that she turned it upside down herself shortly before being pulled over (near Ryan's) so that she WOULD get pulled over and have something of an alibi; even tho it wasn't on the exact day, it was close to it.

Oh THANK YOU, UR!!! :cool1:

… 'fog, scrambled mind' … :rotfl:

Does anyone know what court house the trial is held in?
How difficult it is to attend? Just show up? I live in next state. Hummmm....

The only bigger trial I ever watched (had to write a paper on it for a class) was the "hit man" trail in Maryland (not sure if anyone remembers that one).

I didn't have any problem getting a seat and anyone could go in as long as there were seats. Was a very interesting trial as it was all done through the paper trail and the prosecutor was amazing in connecting the dots.

On a side note one of my friends in college was their next door neighbor and I remember dropping her off a day or 2 after it happened and there was crime scene tape all next door but we had no clue why at the time.

Is that the one where the father hired the hit man to kill his handicapped son and ex-wife?

So the jury was not there yet and Jodi was not answering, have I got that right?
Yes. They're just reviewing the questions to determine if they will be allowed in. Jodi was there...she's present for everything.

FYI...if you "like" Dr Casey Jordan (criminologist who did commentary during Casey Anthony) on FB, there is a woman who posts there who was in the courtroom recently...sitting next to the woman in white who looked like a hooker, sitting behind Jodi's mother...and she gives a little insight into what it's like in court.

Yes it was. Where he used the "hit man" book.

I have sat in on a few other trials but when I was writing my papers that was the one that one of the lawyers I met downstairs suggested. The prosecutor was really fantastic. Best I have ever seen.
