Jobs for biology majors?

I was considering doing the CP in between my Sophomore and Junior years, working towards a BS in Molecular & Cellular Biology.

How do I get a job in the CP in my field as opposed to food service, etc.?

This is my second Bacholors -- I'm 44 & still kicking, just following a dream.

Coming from another biology/science major, there really isn't. The CP is mostly front-line theme park jobs, they want cheap labor to do jobs that require little training.

Depending on what you want to do with your major, though, you could probably try to find something that would be somewhat relevant. For example, I'm a zoology major and hope to work in a zoo or something where I end up doing conservation education and actually taking care of the animals. I told them I was big on animals and could spiel and I got Kilimanjaro Safaris. Either of the animal trails or even Rafiki's would have been wonderful for me as well. But, considering your age, I don't know how essential just having public speaking/guest interaction skills is.

You might want to look into the Professional Internships. Some require that you've done a CP before (in which case, I'd say just take whatever sounds fun to you), but some do not, and you will probably find something more along the lines of what you want there.

I agree, I am a biology major with a concentration towards zoology/veterinary medicine. Unless there is a way for you to be a cast member on the safari or something like that, there really is not a position.

However, Disney does offer professional internships which are a more concentrated type of internship that deals with your major. These are hard to get (im in the application process right now).
