Job on Disney cruise line?

Hello! Just curious if any one has heard about passengers ever "shadowing" cast members during a cruise or seeing the staff areas? Going on a cruise in December ( yup I'm a planner!) & this is my son's dream job...he will be 14. Has the downloaded book & has been on the DCL career site but was hoping to take it a step further....has anyone heard about this or can direct me on who to contact? Much thanks !!

Guests are not allowed in crew areas. Sound like something that would have to be arranged in advance but I have never seen a person not already hired by Disney shadow a crew member.

But, on our last cruise we traveled with a friend's niece who was 14 and she is very into dance and theatre and was able to speak to one of the stage production CM's and arrange a sit down one on one with a performer from the shows. He gave her some insight into what it what like working as a performer onboard.

What area is your son interested in? Maybe speak to someone in that department onboard.

If you are applying for a job on DCL site, they usually link you up with someone in that particular area (i.e. food service, room attendant, etc) to walk you through the process. Maybe they could arrange a job shadow for you onboard for part of a day...
