Job Interview & Drug Testing

Hey guys,

So I will be going into my interview in a few days and I was wondering if there are any positions that require a drug test. I have done some research and from what it looks like, any transportation roles and Lifeguards must have one done and it looks like luck of the draw for Attractions and Recreation.

I have stopped using, but old stuff would still probably show up on the test. I don't plan on using anything once I get a job, I only did while I was back at school.

I'm just wondering which areas I should stay away from. I would love to do Recreation but if there's a possibility that they would test me then it's not worth it.

My daughter works at Kilimanjaro Safaris and had to take a drug test since she drives the trucks.

I work in Attractions, and I had to take a drug test.

If it's something that could affect the safety of a guest (transportation, security, ride operator, etc.), assume you will be tested. Merchandise or janitor probably wouldn't, but you never know. And they can test you at any time, even after you've been employed there. In the 5 years I worked at Universal, I was tested twice: once when I applied, and again when I got injured on the job (because worker's comp wouldn't cover it if I was under the influence).
