Jingle Bells, Panic smells; a Joanna & Panic Christmas PTR -Finally an Update! 11/29

I just sat down and got all caught up.

I love your flashback trips. DC is one of my fav places to visit. I have to travel there for work (nope, not a spy...:lmao:) but I never seem to get to visit everything that I want to see. My DH's great grandfather has a painting at the Smithsonian so that was first on our list when we went to DC. My fav monument has to be the Lincoln Memorial. I just love it.

I've always wanted to go to Alaska. It's on my bucket list. A must do before I croak.

Your Disney flashbacks are so cute. I loved space Mickey. Dude had some awesome duds, didn't he?

I've always wanted to dine at V&A but there is no way to convince DH to take a tux/suit on vacation. He's not havin' it. :sad1:

Can't wait to read more........

:wave2: Hello there - thanks for popping over!

Bummer you're not a spy - you might have known my parents :lmao:

How cool about your DH's great-grandfather - that would be so cool to see! I love DC too - there's so much to see and do. I agree there's never enough time to see everything - keeps you coming back. My favorite is the air and space museum!

Alaska was so cool - I can't wait to go back next year! Definitely worth going if you get a chance.

I loved looking at the '80s Disney pictures - the characters costumes were sooo funny!

The only way I was able to convince DH to go to V&A's the first time was because he already had his tux there for the wedding so I totally understand! My dad told DH to wear his sport coat on the plane - then you don't have to pack it. So we'll see how that goes :rolleyes1

I keep starting an update for October, but it's not flowing - so hopefully I'll get one out today.

Finally have some time too find and catch up on your PTR.:wave2: Us WI people need these TR's to get us through the cold:lmao:

1. Wisconsin Dells, many fond memories, including one where I really went to WI Dells w/ the boyfriend and a group of friends, when it was suppose to be girls only :sad2: It rained and was a not a good time!

2. I hope you go to MNSSHP, we just booked Sept 2011, and for that reason, I look to you to see how it goes:thumbsup2

3. I caved on the heat thing, here in central WI it's 29 degrees!

Ahhh, I LOVE the non-teacher's schedule! I would love to just take tons of those Disney vacations like you do! It just doesn't make sense as one who "chooses-to-shape-the-mind-of-children-despite-the-negative-aspects-of-my-salary-and-the-inability-to-go-to-Disney-during-the-slower-times." Well, at least I can do those crazy Disney-esque bags BECAUSE I'm a teacher, right?

But YAY for AKL stuff! You know I'm gonna be paying special attention!

OMG, I'm cracking up over your cast introductions!

Aww, I love that you're going to Bistro de Paris for dinner! That's a fun way to incorporate the memories.

You made the comparison that the DB bag is more expensive than your wedding dress. However, you only wore your dress for one day. Haha, shouldn't it make more sense for the bag to cost more? I totally think that's good logic!

Haha, the story about the airplane potty and the diaper was hilarious! What's even funnier is that I read it before scrolling down to see your ADORABLE pic, so I was imagining a miniature current you saying that!

I remember seeing those Sea World strollers when I was little! I used to wonder how it felt to ride in it because we never got it ourselves. We always brought our own.

I think the best part of the Alabama picture is YOU. I'm channeling modern teenager right now but OH EM GEE. How CUTEEE are you! I want to be your buddy.

HAHA, moving on to the Washington DC trip ... I actually like that you asked that guide the question about the key! Nerds are the best.

Wait, why did the secret service give you a sticker for almost being run over? I'd want the sticker AND a replacement hot dog!

You have SO many pictures from your younger days! I wish we had more. My dad didn't and still doesn't take many pics on vacation. I should go back and look to see if there are any.

HAHA, the story about Panic claiming your dad's shrimp cocktail is great! When you started writing about what they ordered, I was thinking, "How does she remember that?" but then I realized why that'd be something to remember!

I shivered at the gecko eyeballs story. I really just physically shuddered at it. BUT it wasn't like the fear of seeing the buffalo in the road of your 1993 flashback!!! AGHHH!!! JOANNA!!! AGHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I clicked the link from your table of contents, and it wasn't working. I should've taken that as a sign instead of going to the actual page! AGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Oh wow, was the original cast of Beauty & the Beast with ... Susan Egan? I think that's her name. Haha, it's bad when I listen to soundtracks BEFORE the show because then I expect the people on stage to sound like them. Thankfully, my aunt bought me the soundtrack to this show AFTER the fact, so I actually thought it was weird to hear her! At this point though, I'm very used to hearing her voice and don't know what my Belle really sounded like.

I love those little Christmas trees! I actually had to look it up online to see it in more detail. I could definitely see Howard and I having a tree like that in our teeny tiny apartment. We're not into the big trees, but a little one would be perfect! However, that's an insane price! We might as well buy a little tiny tree and then slowly get ornaments to decorate it ourselves. I already have ornaments from students. Can't believe it costs THAT much!

What character did you have on your fuzzy hat?

Okay, Okay... I'm still alive.... These last few weeks have been nuts. But I'm back now, and just started my Oct. TR http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=38948281&posted=1#post38948281 so please come join me.

I hope to have an update here tonight too...

Haha... As I curled up to the fire this evening (I've only caved on the heat thing once already... I'm trying to stay strong!), and logged into Dis, I had that same thought... now that it's colder, I'll be dreaming of Disney and reading DIS a lot more :cutie:

I have one of those Dells memories - I went with my boyfriend when I wasn't supposed to and my great aunt died, and I had to make it back early on Sunday for her funeral, and there were record cold temperatures, and my car battery died and we had to get a maintenance worker to help jump the car. It set us back about 2 hrs! Bad!

We ended up not going to MNSSHP - too many negative Nellys. But next year I'm most likely going with my friend and her 9 year old... so fingers crossed - I can convince him to go with me :rotfl:

Haha - that's a great way to look at it! We are very fortunate to be able to travel as much as we do, but as a trade off - I have to be in full-on stuffy-professional adult mode when I'm not at Disney!

I'll be sure to take detailed notes on AKL for you! :goodvibes

I like your logic with the D&B bag... I'll have to see if that works for on :rotfl:

Haha.... I your mental image of a mini-current day me with the potty story made me laugh too! Thanks for the compliment - too bad I outgrew my adorableness :rotfl:!

:rotfl: I'm so sorry - I forgot about the Buffalo :flower3: please accept my apology - I promise to warn you if there are any more!

I just remember being entranced with everything about Beauty and the Beast. I'm like you I've heard the soundtrack so many times, now I couldn't tell you what we actually heard.

I totally agree. The trees are adorable, but the price is a bit ridiculous - I think I'll be hitting up the dollar bin at Target instead! :rotfl: I love Christmas, so DH and I have like 3 trees in our house. It's so fun to decorate them!

*blows dust off this PTR*

Yikes we leave in 18 days - and I've been neglecting this TR.

In news of horrible timing - I am switching jobs as of next week. So I've been really busy with that decision and other stuff in "real-life-land" so I apologize for being absent.

I do really want to finish this PTR, and all of the flashbacks - I can get through a decade in 3 weeks - right?

In trip news ...

As I mentioned, I'm switching jobs 2 weeks before we leave. Not the best timing in the world, but I am excited about the change, but it will be so stressful to work for 2 weeks than leave on vacation.

Greg is definitely joining us Saturday thru Tuesday.

Which means he'll be joining us for Universal and WOHP - which is awesome.

Not awesome was trying to changing our ADRs from 5 to 6 people. But 45 minutes and a few time compromises later, things are all sorted out.

We still haven't rented our car yet - I'm a little worried about that.

Other than that - we're just playing the waiting game... we're getting so close!

Totally fine...I always thought PTRs would be hard to keep up and going!

Congrats on your new job.

I can't wait to read about your December trip. My mom was just asked to go with a friend of hers to Disney in Dec, and I'm just a bit jealous. I'll live vicariously through your TR. I'm anxious to read about Harry Potter too. I can't wait to get there next time!
