Jim Hill says FL skyway station could finaly be going.

Hmm....they'd have to do more than just get rid of the skyway building...likely have to get rid of Yankee Trader, or a good portion of the existing entryway to Haunted Mansion.

Seems like too much effort for no payoff - the crowds would still just wind up right back together again 20 feet later in both directions.

This is JH what I am hearing is SW Station is staying and will be the eventual home of the pricess.

Nothing will happen to the building. It blocks the sight-line to the rear of Haunted Mansion.

Not really that is done by the trees and you can see HM if you look for it.

Anyway inthis case like I sai imo Jim Hill is wrong.

I don't think anything major is going to happen to the Skyway building, just because behind that is the Haunted Mansion attraction, and it could be hard trying to build around the HM.

Rumors have persisted concerning a new merchandise location at the exit of the Haunted Mansion. The exit for the attraction will allegedly be routed through the current Yankee Trader shop. This location will be tripled in size to allow for the new traffic. Maybe these two rumors together will actually come to fruition. Who knows? :confused3

Hmmm,
Spooky merchandise could sell quite well. It is probably my favorite ride at DW. Good chance for some decent sales.
Gawd, I can't remember what the current exit is like/located at all.

I've always wondered why they don't sell much HM merch.

The exit is just a corridor leading to the outside, on the other side of the carriage.

I don't see an advantage to the claimed switching of the entrance/exit to IASW. The wheelchairs/ECV use the exit ramp for both entrance and exit. If they swap, they'll still have to build an entirely new exit system & add some way for CMS (and hire more CMS) to transport the WCs and ECVs from the load platform to the unload platform.

Otherwise the exiting WC and ECVs will cause a lot more problems, if they have them continiue to exit through what would now become the entrance.

I believe part of the idea is to at least mainstream the wheelchair/ECV access - that is, they are part of the normal line with everyone else getting in. Getting out is a different issue, and that could be part of what is taking so long - they might be trying to create a better exit for them.

It is even more than that. If the EVCs/WC are mainstreamed, they will need to redesign the loading platform, making a larger holding area for them, or queue will be clogged with those unable to transfer and needing to wait for the compatible boat. As it is now, once the current holding area is full, W/C and ECV back up onto the exit ramp until there is room in the holding area. And this happens often, not just on particularly busy days. Maybe they'll make an entirely new W/C ECV load area, and pull boats off track to load, like they do at Toy Story Mania. An expensive fix for what really isn't a current major problem.

Jim Hill says blah blah blah. Haha! I'm sure there's something that he's stated that has come to fruition right? :rotfl2:

In all seriousness, I thought it blocked part of the HM show building? Maybe not. A real gift shop might be cool though. One of the few that I would actually peruse through. I think the Skyway building is so cute though!
