Jilian & BT's VR 3/24/12 Crescent Terr/Il Mulino - Last of the Randy Chapman pics up!

So here is a little backstory: Since the VR is costing quite a bit and we have 3 kids, my H and I have decided not to get each other anything for Christmas. Then the other day my H was talking about how cool it was that the Harry Potter box set it out on blu ray. So I pretended I was going food shopping and went to buy it for him instead. He was so happy and said he wanted to surprise me with something but wanted to make sure it was something I really wanted. So I said new makeup! Then he told me to take my sister and make a day trip out of it :yay:

So this weekend I'm taking my sister to MAC so we can both have a makeup session and buy some new stuff. She's newly single and I thought she'd like to look fabulous. She did the same thing for me when I was newly divorced all those years ago. I'm really exicted to get some great new makeup!! Does anyone else love MAC? Any must-haves I should know about?
How fun!!

DFi and I aren't doing Christmas this year either because we're planning a Disney trip for January and are going into major SAVE mode for the rest of 2012 with the wedding coming up.

I  MAC! I'm obsessed with their eyeshadows and their glitter eyeliner. :thumbsup2 They also have awesome foundation. My favorite eyeshadows are: Phloof!, Shroom, Gleam, Naked Lunch, and RetroSpeck.

Go have a makeover and post pictures!!

Glitter eyeliner?! I've never heard of such a thing! I'm thinking of trying a new foundation. I've been doing powder only and it doesn't seem to be working out to well for me. I end up oily so I think that foundation will give me a nice base. Now I just have to try not to spend a small fortune here! I called to make the appointment today!!!

Have fun getting a makeover! MAC is great but I can't afford it lol. I know anything you buy will stay on your face forever, it lasts a long time so it's worth the money though. And of course it's going to be so much fun with your sis! Enjoy.

I'll try to get pics of the after shots of my makeover tomorrow :)

So we picked up H's suit and it is better now. They shortened the sleeves back to where they were and they removed the charge for lengthening them. Overall I have to say that Men's Warehouse was nice to work with.

Karen got back to me on the flower arrangements. For 2 arrangements, and to rent 2 pedestals to put them on it comes out to $245 with taxes and delivery. Not bad! So we're gonna go with that instead of DIY.

Today I got a nice surprise in the mail: a signed photo from Mickey & Minnie saying "Best wishes Jill & Brian". I'm such a little kid, it felt like Christmas! I sent and invite to the CA address and that is where the picture came from, so it is in front of sleeping beauty's castle. They also sent me 1 just married pin, again it was from Disneyland. I'm thinking of framing it and putting it on the placecard table for the VR.

I'm still working on the Mickey head fans. I have 12 done so far and I'm still trying to decide if I should wrap the sticks in ribbon or just tie a bow. I like how they look wrapped so if I have time and can get ribbon on sale I'll probably do that.

I can't believe that my ticker will say "2 months" soon! We started talking about having a VR when we were about 2 years out and it seems like a lifetime ago. I can't believe it is almost here! The kids are starting to get excited too. My oldest son was having trouble sleeping a few nights ago because he said "I just can't stop thinking about going to Disney and all the fun we're going to have" :) I'm going to have the kids help me make up window decorations and I think they'll really love that. My older son already did an amazing painting of the castle.

The day is so close but yet so far :goodvibes ... wow u only got 12 mickey fans done so far, i better get started on mines already ... u r making me a little nervous about them but it is totally my fault 4 not starting bcuz i signed myself up 2 work so many hrs ... Thats an awesome suprise 2 get in the mail the sign card from mickey & minnie .. i completely 4got 2 send mines out :confused3.. i better jump on that ASAP!... keep the updates coming popcorn::

Glad to hear hubby's suit is better and that you're all set with the floral!

What a fun surprise! And, it's a great idea to frame it for the VR. So fun! I can't wait to send our invite to them!

I can't wait to see your fans! If you clip the Michaels coupons, hopefully you can get the ribbon for cheap! Plus, I know Michaels does a nice after Christmas sale- maybe you could snag some then?

2 months!! So exciting!!

Yeah the Mickey head fans are taking me a long time but I don't have a cricut so I'm cutting them out by hand very slowly so they aren't all jagged. I also have 3 kids so I can only really work at night after they are in bed or during nap time. I think you'll probably be able to work faster with the cricut.

Good luck with your crazy schedule! Think of all the bling that it will buy you!

I didn't think about the after Christmas sale, thanks for letting me know about that!

I'm moving on to music selections now and I think I have it narrowed down to 2 choices for me walking down the aisle. Either "A dream is a wish your heart makes" (we have a violinist and a guitarist but I cannot find a sample duet anywhere)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfoaOsgWtCw
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yfhd0nkKpFs

or Married life from UP
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzhkxYX8GCw

H loves, loves the song from UP. I like it too and the more I listen to it the more it grows on me. We just don't have the whole UP theme to go along with it, does that matter? We could have our 2 little ones hold a Mickey ear balloon when the walk down the aisle to throw in a little UP love (and then I'm sure they'd beat the heck out of each other throughout the ceremony to keep things interesting). I thought about "once upon a dream" but we're too cynical and goofy for that one to ever apply to us.

If we use UP to walk down the aisle then I'm not sure what to use when we come back up the aisle. Any suggestions? Or does someone just wanna pick my songs for me? ;)

ETA: so after thinking it over a bit I think we might go with "A dream is a wish your heart makes" for me walking down the aisle and then "Married life" from UP when we're done. It is more upbeat so I think it makes more sense. We're not gonna do the balloons either, H agreed that the kids would be having balloon wars during the ceremony and it would be cute but not really a good idea. Now I just have to email our violinist and guitarist to make sure they even know how to play these songs. I hope they do!

Have a great weekend everyone! We're super busy with finishing up last minute shopping and DS1 and I are volunteering at a Toys for Tots Christmas party tomorrow morning. In awesome news my kids and my H are all off for the next 10 days so we will get a lot of family time in. Merry Christmas everyone!

I think "a dream is a wish ur heart makes" would b a better choice to walk down the aisle 2 & "married life" as u walk back up the aisle.. good choices in music :thumbsup2 .... by the way where did u buy the large stick 4 ur mickey fans?? i seem 2 not find it in micheals or ac moore :confused3 ... 10 days off with the family is the best especially since its the holidays :goodvibes

I had such a great day today! My mom has been slowly getting better and today my sister and I took her to the mall for some shopping. I found a great dress for our welcome party and it was 50% off! Here it is:

Of course I needed new shoes to match, so I found these:

When I went to buy them my mom surprised me by paying for them. They were an early Christmas present :)

Then we went into a hat store and tried on some cute floppy hats. I told them about how great it would be if we all could buy hats and sundresses and go have tea at the GF while we're in Disney and they agreed - which shocked me because they aren't the type. So we bought hats. Then we had lunch and went back to my mom's. My step dad said he wanted to give me an early Christmas present. He handed me a little box and said "Its for the vow renewal. I love you so much" I opened it up and found a diamond cross. It was perfect! I was having trouble finding the right necklace and it was just what I've wanted. I welled up a little. He's such an awesome step dad; he's been my dad since I was 3 and my bio dad dissappeared.

In other news: my older son is going to be NINE in February. He asked me the other day if we could maybe go to Disney together for the day for his birthday. Soo, I'm gonna surprise him by taking him up, just him and I. He's gonna be so, so excited. I can't wait!

For some reason I couldn't see the pic of the dress (probably work firewall), but what a great idea to do to. So special to get a present from your dad. My girls would love to go to disney for their birthdays. That is so special to do with your son.

The dress and shoes are super cute! How nice of your mom to buy them for you! Woohoo!

Your step dad sounds too sweet.

Aww!! What a fun surprise that will be for your son! FUN! When is his birthday?

His Birthday isn't until Feb 19th, but for some reason that weekend is full price at Disney so we're planning on going over the weekend of the 4th. I don't think I'm gonna tell him, we'll just leave after breakfast and I'll bring his Mickey shirt and pull it out for him to put on in the car. The boys have matching Mickey shirts and they always wear them when we go to Disney so he'll get it if he sees the shirt. My daughter and I have matching pink Mickey shirts too, we're dorks but I think we all look really cute together with our matching shirts.

Awww I love the dress! And that's so cute what you are doing for your son. I wish someone would surprise ME with a trip to the World. :lovestruc You're a great mom!

Jilian, we have the same shoes. :)

I love your sash and flowers.

The only thing I have bought for my vow renewal are the shoes. I just fell in love with them, when I saw them at DSW. :lovestruc

Thanks! I wish someone would surprise me too, my H doesn't seem to catch on to the very obvious hints I drop.

WHAT!!! 50%! That is GREAT  I am all about the savings :goodvibes... That was awesome of ur step dad, what a sweet gesture :flower3: Ur son is going 2 b so exicted, thats so nice 2 have mommy/son time

There is a 2 in front on my ticker! I really need to get my act together. There is still a lot left to do. I have zero motivation. I'm sick with a cold and it feels like it is turning into bronchitis. H goes back to work tomorrow after being off for 10 days. His grandfather died yesterday afternoon so we're all feeling a bit sad. It wasn't a surprise, his grandfather was almost 92 and had moved into hospice earlier in the week after falling and breaking 3 ribs. He bruised his lungs and developed pnemonia and was just too old to recover. I'm feeling really blah about everything. Maybe I'll get back to VR stuff next week.

I hope everyone had a great holiday, my kids had a wonderful Christmas and are still on vacay for another week. We had so much having family adventures this past week. I'm sad that it is all over and we have to get back to reality again.

Have a great week Dis brides and grooms!
