I was wondering if anyone had brought their children to Jiko and what they thought of the kids menu there? My children are 12, 9, and 6 if that helps with comparisons. Thanks

I ate at Jiko last April with DS and his family. My Grandchildren were 3 and 5 and are very used to restaurant dining and "the rules". They were very well behaved. They were happy with the Children's Menu. They had salad and one had Mac and Cheese and one had the fish which happened to be Salmon. They loved it.
I ate at Jiko last Friday evening with DH and other DS. We were a party of 3 adults. One thing I noticed was that there were virtually no children there. It was a very adult atmosphere. It was quiet, elegant and a special meal.
Kids are welcome at all restaurants at Disney, (with the exception of Victoria and Alberts), but there just weren't many at Jiko last week. To be honest, as a party of 3 adults, it was really nice to have an adult, refined meal (I have been on both sides of this issue)

I've been on both sides at Jiko.
One year, DS went to Simba's club and we went alone. Ended up sitting next to a table where Mom disappeared and Dad spent the meal loudly trying to cajole his daughter out from under the table while the boys rolled all over the booth. We  and  .

This summer, we went with a group that included 3 kids, one 13, and two 11 year olds. It was their favorite restaurant, compared to Flying Fish, Le Cellier, Chefs and many others.

Thanks for the feed back, I just wanted to know that the food for the kids is better and more liked by the children. So much of the "new and healthy" kids options are just not that good and I hate to feed them things that they will not eat while we adults get good food.

I'm glad you cleared that up because I can respond to that. Two of the kids ordered from the adult menu and loved their meal. One ordered from the kids' menu and her steak, while good, didn't compare to the rest. Given that she had inhaled a large amount of appetizers and was planning on desert, she was satisfied but depending on the child and their tastes it could have been an issue.

My 3 were bored at Jikos. It can't compare to Chef Mickeys in a kids eye :rotfl:
They didn't care for the food all that well either BUT ...

This IS DH and I's fav place to eat!! We love the food, and the quietness!!!!
