We have been to Jiko 3 times and are planning our 4th trip there in a few weeks. Each and every time we have been seated in what I think is called the wine room to the right. It is a small room with about 8 tables. Not that we disliked sitting there, but I think we would like to have a different view/experience this visit.

Where would you suggest I ask to be seated if possible? Is it possible?

Funny, when I saw the title for this post I right away thought the wine room. We have sat about everywhere in this restaurant and we love the wine room. Every time we have sat in the wine room it has been adults only. I'm not sure if they try to keep it that way. But it was definitely one of the quietest meals we have ever had at WDW. Sitting near the cooking hearth is probably our second choice. Although the booths in the back aren't too bad either.

:lmao: Yes it was and is always a very quiet meal in the wine room. Its very lovely. I think we just wanted to have a different view this time around. Can you request near the cooking hearth, Are you able to see them cooking from there?

They tend to keep the Wine Room fairly child-free, so I consider it the best location.

Funny you should say that. The first time we ate at Jiko we were seated in the wine room and we were the only childless couple there. Every other table had multiple small children. I thought to myself, "Did they think we were going to make trouble or something? They put us in the kids room."

If you don't want to sit in the wine room again just mention that when you checkin at the podium. You may want to ask for a table near the windows for the view. Otherwise, I don't think there's much to rate a section as better than another.

I've been placed in the "wine room" when dining with my mother and my child. We didn't ask for that location or anything. Fortunately, she is generally quiet and well-behaved (my child, not my mother).

I think the best tables in Jiko are the booths in front of the counter area where the big ovens are. You have a nice view of the chefs preparing appetizers and can see what they're cooking in the ovens!

We've sat everywhere except the booths with a view of the hearth/chefs. Although the wine room is nice, I prefer being in the main room and would have no problem requesting that upon arrival. (hmmm, will probably request to sit near the chefs next time!)

Anyway....my favorite is near the windows because the garden view is so pretty, but I also like the big booths all the way up at the top. I don't think we've ever had a "bad" table though, each area is nice in its own way so we've been happy every time....except, like you, I'm a bit tired of the wine room at the moment.
