For those of you who have eaten at Jiko, how was your experience? We are thinking of making this as one of our ADRs but have not heard many reviews of it.

We love Jiko and go everytime we're in WDW. We've never had a bad experience. We love the flatbreads, Taste of Africa app, filet entree, and the scallop entree. My parents went just last week and loved the halibut entree. My mom said it was the best meal all week besides Bistro de Paris.

Hi,
We have eaten at Jiko many times over the years and we are scheduled to have dinner there again in a few weeks during our upcoming trip. The filet with the red wine mac and chees is great. The serive and atmosphare is very relaxing. Always a highlight of our trip. Go and enjoy.

DH and I ate there on July 30th and loved it. We were on the DLX DDP. We were seated and given hot towels infused with rose water to freshen up with. We ordered our Apps- DH got the Ostrich and I got the spiced beef thing, it was really good. For our Entrees I got the Filet Migon on a bed of Mac & Cheese and DH ordered the Lamb. Both were amazing. I forgot to ask for a knife and decided to use my butter knife (I know tacky, but what was a girl to do) The steak was so tender it cut like butter literally. For dessert DH got the Choc. Cheesecake and I got the Lemon Custard. Both equally amazing. I loved the staff, so friendly. I will definately go back. Two thumbs up.

Jiko is my favorite restaurant! The food is delicious, the service is wonderful, and the atmosphere is subdued "grown-up"! Also the prices are fairly reasonable for an upscale restaurant. :thumbsup2

Fantastic spot! Try the pistachio creme brulee - if they still have it on the menu.

We were excited to get ressies for Jiko. I have one question: Is it pronounced Jiko with a long I like in Trike OR is it pronounced like Jee-ko?

Just don't want to misprounounce it all week.

Also, are casual clothes (nice shirt and capri/crop pants) dressy enough?

Thanks so much~!~

Another frequent Jiko patron. While I don't think Jiko is as good as it used to be, it's still a decent place to eat, esp. considering the other choices at WDW. I have always felt that the appetizers and soups were the stars at Jiko. The entrees are good but not as good as the starter courses, at least IMO as a very adventurous eater. The restaurant is gorgeous and has provided us with a more adult environment than many of the other Disney signatures.

The wine selection here is amazing, the primary reason we go here so often.

Definately Great..I'll disagree with PP. It's WAY better than decent.
LeCellier is decent. Jiko is great.
The filet is great. (possibly second only to Shula's)
We LOVE the olive flatbread. Flatbreads are a must app.
Highly recommend trying one.

And the serverers all taste the wines as they come in, even have a say
as to which ones they will carry so everybody knows the wine list.
So even if your a newbie to wines, tell them what you tend to like and they'll probably recommend a great wine for you.
We ate there twice and have had two great recommendations.

Note: If your on the Dining Plan it does count as two sittings. Well worth it, but plan accordingly.

I have to agree with everyone. Jiko is wonderful.:woohoo: The filet with mac and cheese is our favorite. The wine selection is outstanding and the servers are knowledgeable.

Get there early and you can wonder around the hotel, go into the shop which IMHO is unique, go back to the savana, and then have a glass of wine before dinner.

Jiko is wonderful and one of the few Disney restaurants where you can get something unique - I hope the homogenization of restaurant offerings doesn't affect it and the few others that also offer something different! I just wish they'd bring back the Brentwood corn soup...

I love Jiko! The Ostrich app. is incredible, Dh enjoyed the artisan cheeses(always does) The filet with mac & cheese is so good I crave that mac & cheese now. The desserts were just as good. Dh had pistachio creme brulee and I had Tanzanian chocolate cheesecake. Jiko is a favorite of ours now.

WOW! :goodvibes SUPER GLAD to hear all the terrific jiko reviews on here! i booked it for my upcoming trip just coz i thought the menu sounded more unique. i really cant wait to check it out! and thanks to everyone posting the great reviews on here! :goodvibes

My dh thought it was the best food he ever tasted until we at at Palo's on the Disney Wonder. At Jiko's we had this flatbread pizza that was awesome. He had the filet and I had the shrimp. We loved them both. I would probably go there again but we won't have time on this next trip...:)

We had a fantastic meal here last Oct...from beginning to end it was perfect and the food was delish...it has been almost a year and DH is still talking about our dinner there.....if you click on my Oct link there is a link to dinner at Jiko with a full review and pics.
