We ate at Jiko for the first time on 10/19/2007. It was one restaurant we couldn't wait to do but had never gone because people we were with didn't want to or the amount of time needed to get to it and other activities going on! I am sure happy we finally made the trip over! It will NOT be our last!

Ok on with the food!

We had three with us this wonderful night!
Here is our food story!

We had 6 PM reservations so we could play at the Magic Kingdom after!
We arrived 5 minutes early and didn't even have time to look at a drink menu in the bar before they were seating us!

Here is the Menu we had to choose from:

Please forgive my DH for not taking pictures of the Appetizers they were so good we ate them and then thought about photos! :headache:

We all shared the Fire Roasted Sambal Shrimp with Chickpea and Pepperdew Bhajia.
These were wonderful, perfectly cooked and the sauce was flavorful!

We also had the Artichoke and Pepperdew Flatbread with Goat Cheese!
This was amazing and we all could have had one ourselves, but we were good!

For our Entrées :
DH had what he has been waiting for since he first looked at food porn on this sight -
Filet and Mac. and Cheese!

It is great, cooked perfectly and I can see why everyone loves it!

I had the Chermoula Roasted Tanglewood Chicken

OK! My normal reaction is CHICKEN? I have chicken at home all the time, I never order it out but the waited said it was great so I took his word! It was fantastic. Moist, flavorful and A LOT of food! I couldn't finish it! It came with potatoes that had preserved lemon and roasted garlic the I loved also!

Our friend ordered the Broiled Filet of Artic Char which is like a mild salmon.

Again it was really good and had a salad of tomatoes and avocado under it to cut the rich fish! This was also a HUGE meal!

I can't remember the wines we had with each course. We all had different things and a great time, A lot of laughing not enough paying attention to some details! All I know it is what our waiter suggested and they all went well with what we had!;)

For dessert we all split two things!
Vanilla Bean Mousse with Strawberry sauce and Cardamom spiced cake

This was good but not out of this world

Then we had the Chocolate Cheese cake with Lavender Ice Cream

This was rich and wonderful!

As you see we loved this and hope to go back very soon!

I LOVE Jiko. It is my favorite restaurant. I always get a chicken dish there because it is soooo delicious! I am glad you liked it!

Enjoyed your review and pictures. Thanks for posting. Jiko is our favorite WDW restaurant.

JIKO is terrific! Ate there for the second time on 10/14. The flatbreads were excellent, the Filet Minon with Mac and Cheese was also great. For the cheese lover try the cheese selection which can be ordered as an appy or desert on DP.

Dinner was well paced and not rushed.

Thanks for posting the review. I'll be eating there for the first time in January. Glad to hear it's getting good reviews.

My husband would LOVE to go there on our AKL stay in April. I just can't get past the price though for one entree! Help me, because I'd love to book this.

It is worth the price. I don't say that about a lot of restaurants. I have sent 3 couple friends (so 6 people) there and all of them said it was one of the top 5 restaurants they have ever eaten in (not only in WDW). For me, I don't bring my kids (we did once). It is a restaurant to be enjoyed and savored. You don't want to have to rush.

Thanks for your review. We are thinking about this one for our trip next month.

ok, thanks. Now, we have 2 teenage boys and we'd go on a non park day, so the boys would be at the resort with us. If they don't come with us, any suggestions as to what they would do for a couple hours on their own?

Thanks for the review! I'll deffinately have to add this one to our list to try! :)
