Jiko Open Kitchen Counter Seating

Are the seats at the counter of the open kitchen first come first served or are they used for separately reservable dining events?

I once booked the Sunset Safari. I was the only person who booked it. Dinner at Jiko was included. Since I was alone, they put me at the counter.

Another time, I was with a friend. We went to Jiko without an ADR. They put us at the counter.

Been awhile since I've been to Jiko, but seating there was always first come.

And unless it has changed, this is not the actual kitchen--just an area where they do flatbreads and such.

I had a solo reservation last year after the Star Wars half. I arrived a bit early and asked if I could sit at the counter and they looked something up and said there was room. I don't know if there's a way to make a separate reservation for it but that worked for me. As pp said, it's not a full kitchen but they do different things like putting together the charcuterie board. I had a blast sitting there, and several of them were very engaging and fun. Good luck!
