After a day at AK, where should my family of 2Ad, 4Kids eat?
Somewhere in Ak, or Jiko or Boma? I've never been to the AKL and not staying there this time so thought it might be nice to see it.

Kids are of the hot dog, chicken nugget variety and not terribly prone to going outside that realm. DH is a steak type eater, likes some flavorings but I'd say rates about a 4 (on a scale of 1-10) in the adventurous food eating realm.

I, am up for anything.

Opinions?

I'd vote for Boma because there's truly something for everyone. i.e., there's usually a prime rib at the carving station for your DH and the kids have the usual selections of mac 'n cheese, chicken strips and fresh fruit. And for you, there's a wide array of seriously delicious things. They have several soups--I've adored each and every one I've sampled, an extensive selection of salads from the usual mixed greens to some very different pasta, bean, vegetable salads. I could skip the meat course (I can eat chicken or prime rib or salmon anytime) and go right to the fantastic dessert table. I love the tiny tarts especially. :wizard:

I would second the vote for Boma -- none of us are what you would call adventurous eaters, and we all enjoyed it! There is definitely something for everyone. Not to mention just seeing Animal Kingdom Lodge is fantastic. We absolutely fell in love with it -- and could have easily blown our souvenir budget in their fabulous gift shop!

I would definitely say BOMA. Not only is there great variety and excellent food (one of my fav places in all of WDW), the atmosphere is busy and lively. JIKO, on the other hand, is a restaurant where most of the diners are adults. The restaurant is darker, quiet, intimate, meals are at a leisurely pace and you will be there a considerable amount of time (our meal there last month took 2 hours 20 minutes). And although the menu is excellent, it does not have the variety you can find at BOMA.
