So after many times driving from Kingston, ON to Orlando this coming December we will be flying out of Syracuse. Our dates are Dec 11-18. I am currently getting a price of $1169.60 from JetBlue for the 4 of us. Is this a good price for that time of year?

We are flying from Rochester for Jan 1 to Jan 9 for $957 for the four of us as well. We have to pay for luggage on top of that of course but it's a bit cheaper than what you are getting. I was watching Jet Blue from Syracuse myself, but the prices just wouldn't come down past $1300 for us - so we will drive a bit farther. I kept delaying booking in case Jet Blue came down but they only seem to be going up!

Yes actually the flight I wanted on the Sat. says only 4 seats left. It is the only direct flight that day. I will look into SW out of Buffalo but I cannot see the December flights yet. I will wait and compare even though it may cost me.

I am from Kingston too. We always fly out of syracuse when we go to florida. We like the airport. We always fly jetblue too. There is more seat room and tv at each seat. I think if you book and are a jet blue member and the price goes down you can get a credit. I would double check the website. I think the price is pretty good. Did you look out of toronto(remember add ons really add up in toronto) then you would get an idea if it was good for that time of year.
Driving an hour longer each way can be really long before and after a trip. Jet blue includes luggage.

We drive from Ottawa to Syracuse, and always fly JetBlue. We have seen the prices as low as $69. each way, but i think that was back in 2006. We tend to book early...as soon as the dates are released. I think last time we paid about $1150. (CDN) or so for the 4 of us. Almost every time, though, if we had waited, WestJet or AirCanada had a seat sale from Ottawa that would put us within $300 of the price from Syracuse.

We always go down the night before and stay at a hotel with a Park n' Fly rate, so even for $300 more, not having to pay for the gas and the hotel would have made it about a $100 difference, so we definitely would have flown from Ottawa. I just don't have the patience to wait, and I would worry that if I counted on a seat sale, instead the prices would quadruple or something and we would not be able to fly at all!
