jetblue makes me curse

Everyday, I check jetblue, and only one word comes out of my mouth: basblanks!!

$299 going down, $349 coming back.

Am I bad?

Yes indeed, and their prices are $200 each way, but hey that's better than Jetblue.

brad, I leave on Dec. 26th, and return on Dec. 31st. I know, I know, VERY busy times, but I swear in 2005 I traveled ths same dates and got $79 each way! I WILL HAVE HOPE!

Ok, my optimistic prediction...Jetblue will sneak in a 24 hour sale, $89 each way!

gigi, yes, I know you were being helpful, thank you very much, sincerely. I'm a nervous flyer, and jetblue is part of my comfort zone, but I will be looking into other options. I didn't even think of Tampa. I'm going to check right now.

If you can arrange transportation, look at the flights out of Westchester. We are doing that for the first time in three weeks but everyone we spoke to felt it was a more reliable departure time window.

Yes the prices are running higher at JetBlue for Florida, but I did get a good fare a few months ago to Nashville. And some $89 fares have popped up for non peak times to FL.

The JetBlue item that has me more irked is the size of the lines in the morning at Kennedy and the general confusion...

If you can arrange transportation, look at the flights out of Westchester.

JetBlue isn't stupid, and knows that those flying out of White Plains have one of the highest average incomes of any airport in the country. Therefore their prices around ANY holdiay for flights out of Westchester are very high (I know, I've been checking them, because a relative lives there who wants to joint us at WDW during President's Day week next February, and Jet Blue wants $300+ each way for those dates - I can only imagine what the OP will see if she checks the Christmas period).

Jetblue is a low cost carrier NOT low fare.
We have traveled to various parts of Florida( MCO,PBI,FLL,MIA) over Christmas break for the past 10 years.
Never has Jetblue been close to being the cheapest. Having said that, we purchased our Christmas tickets back in March for 178 R/T 26-31.
The bargain tickets for that time of the year are gone and fares are not going anywhere but up. I guarantee you that come Christmas ever seat on every carrier to Fla will be sold.
If you see anything under 159 one way grab it.

things are probably a lot different at JFK where JB pretty much dominates.

whenever i've compared rates, the only one who has ever edged JB out on price is delta and it's marginal and i'd gladly pay a bit more for JB than fly delta.

i'm trying to check these dates with farecast right now just to compare but it's not working.

bradk - I like to check kayak.com. Not definitive but the best comparative site I've seen.

okay then.. i've had problems with kayak years ago and haven't tried since, but for those dates, for non-stop, only delta has JB beat by $100 r/t right now.

and given JB's policies and delta's well known headaches (yes, flame me all you want), $100 would be worth it for JB to me.
