Before I call I figured I'd see if anyone here as been through this before or could offer any advice/opinions.

In Jan. I boked our flights from NY to Orlando. At the time the best price was for an airport we don't usually fly out of and is further away from us, but the price was right so I booked it. Since then (our flight is in Aug.) the time has changed twice, but not by much and is really not a big deal, but they have changed the size plane now too. It is now the smaller plane with two seats on either side, not three. While this may not be a big deal to some, it is to my DH. He is a terrible flyer and has to take medication just to go on their larger plane. When I told him of the plane change he said no way was he going on the smaller plane. Believe me I would have never booked it if I knew there was a possibility of the size of the plane changing. We always fly Jetblue only and have never had this happen before. Anyway, my question is, will they let us change our flight? I know I would have to pay any difference in the different fare prices, but will I have to pay fees on top of that?:confused3 (I would be changing airports too because there is no large plane leaving from this airport on that day)

It gets worse, when I booked I had to split the reservation because we had a voucher and we had true blue points to use and they couldn't be used on the same transaction. So, I booked DH & DD and used the points only having to pay $5 for tax. Then for myself & DS I used the 1 voucher we had and paid cash for the balance. Because of all that will it be impossible to change these flights?

Thanks for any help anyone can offer!

It won't be impossible, but because you booked nonrefundable fares and are now cancelling those, yes, there will be a fee - usually $50 if the one-way fare was under $100 and $100 if the fare was that amount or more.

Have you accepted the time changes? If not, they *may* waive the changes fees. I find JB's customer service to be pretty great so hopefully they will work with you!

OK, that makes sense, thanks! So I would be looking at $200 in fees, I think that is managable. I just wondered if they would ever wave the fee since they are the ones who changed the plane size? Also, I just went online to see if I can do it there by clicking "Manage your flight" and I see the option there but it will not let me click on it, anything clickable is in the color blue and the "change this flight" option is in grey.

No, I didn't and they actually never notified us of them. I only found out because I was checking the flight to see if there were any changes like I always obsessivly do when our trip is near.:lmao: They did contact us about our other flight (the flight coming home) with a time change and that we accepted. That was also booked separately and has a whole different confirmation #.

Changing plane size is not considered an "allowable" reason to rebook but the time change is. Flights often change their plane size. Southwest is the only airline I know that does not as they only fly one size plane. You could always call and ask though. But, keep in mind, they won't be able to guarantee you the plane size will not change on the next flight either.

You would be looking at the change fee plus any change in airfare.
