Does anyone have any experience with the JetBlue card from American Express? JetBlue generally has the cheapest airfare to Orlando from where we live (flying out of SFO). Right now they have a deal to earn 20k points if you spend 1k within the first three months of opening a card. It looks like we can do RT tickets for about 25k points each. That would save us roughly 350 for each ticket. If we each opened a card, and spent the 1k (don't worry- spending on gas, groceries, etc. and pay off as we go!) we could theoretically get our airfare almost free. Anyone used this card before? Thoughts on the idea? There is a small annual fee, but we would probably cancel the card(s) after the trip was over (currently planning for Feb 2015)

A few months ago, I applied for this card and was approved immediately. Spent the $1k in the first month and received the miles. I'm not exactly sure how long it took for the miles to show up. What's nice about JetBlue now is the miles no longer expire. I plan to either cancel the card or see if I can get the annual fee waived when the card is about to renew. If they won't waive the fee, I'll just cancel.

I've had this card for years and even though there is a yearly fee, it's been well worth it- I can't remember the last time I paid a real full RT fare when traveling! Make sure you register for the TrueBlue program on the JetBlue website.
