I tried to reserve this excursion, but wasn't allowed to. I was told they would only book this one on board the ship. Did anyone else have this same experience? Thanks!

Yes, I was told the same thing for our May 27th cruise. I think it's because it's still in the testing stages. Once they decide if it will be a standard offering, I'm sure you'll be able to book it ahead of time.

My 2 teen-aged DSs did this during our 4/15 cruise on the Wonder. They just walked up and rented them in the mid-afternoon on CC- they go out I believe on the hour, in a group. My sons went out at 3 PM in a group of about 10 or 12. Two of the CMs go out with them - they had a blast!! It is a bit pricey - $95.00. It is for approx 45 min, but the actual jet ski ride is approx 20-25 min. The rest of the time is spent teaching the use of the jet skis and safety is discussed. I thought there would be a lot of people interested in doing this on this particular day, as all the parasailing rides and glass bottom boat rides had been cancelled due to the high winds. But the boys had no trouble at all. Hopefully you'll have no problem, but you may want to try calling again just before your cruise to find out if they have changed the booking policy.

This is the response I received from DCL yesterday about this excursion:

The Personal Watercraft Tour on Castaway Cay is for our guests 8 years and older. However, this
shore excursion cannot be reserved in advance. Arrangements for this specific excursion can only be
made once onboard the ship at our Shore Excursion Desk. Following is a description for you:
Get to know Castaway Cay like a native! A knowledgeable guide will take you on a fascinating eco
adventure via personal watercraft as you learn about the area's abundant marine life, unique ecology
and storied history. First, your guide will lead the way to a scenic stop amid the mangroves, where
you'll learn about Castaway Cay's intriguing ecosystem. Then, it's off to a second point of
interest, where your guide will describe the colorful history of The Bahamas and the unique island
marine life. You may ride either single or in pairs on this exciting journey-why not make it a
family affair? The entire adventure, including Personal Watercraft instructions will last
approximately 1 hour. It is recommended to wear water shoes or sandals, as well as eyeglass straps.
Riders will board the watercraft from the water.
Cost Per Person: $95 single riders $160 double riders
To ride, you must be at least 8 years old. To drive, you must be at least 18 years old. If you are
16 or 17 years old and wish to drive, you must obtain authorization from a parent or legal guardian.
Age Requirements: No one under 8 allowed on this shore excursion due to age limits and safety
concerns.
