Jet Blue will begin flying out of Westchester Airport

I heard this on the local news this morning They want to start 3/5 but are still working out the details. Apparantly AirTran is upset about the competition. Too bad I'm already booked with AirTran as my kids love the TV's but I thought the information may help someone else.

I love flying Jet Blue, but have to drive to Newburgh to fly w/ them. Westchester is still a hike for us, but it is about 25 mins closer. Besides, I think the competition from AirTran will help to keep flights down in cost.

We'd really prefer to fly Southwest out of Hartford, but it's become nearly impossible to get a non-stop, first thing on a Saturday morning flight w/ SW for less than $109 one-way. There will be 7 of us in August so I've been looking at AirTran from White Plains which is $79/each way. That savings of $30/per person each way adds up to quite a bit!
